Is Worthy not being sacked because of his 'rolling' contract?

Recommended Posts

Whilst not being sure of the exact details of a ''rolling'' contract, does this effectively mean the board could chose not to ''roll'' it over to next year? This would mean the board could axe worthington without having to pay him for sacking him.

Not sure on this one, anyone clear it up?

It would normally mean that the Club would have to give a year''s notice, ie a year''s pay, if and when they dispense with his services. Given that there might also be a clear out of assisstant managers, if they also have rolling contracts there could be a bill of a few hundred thousand pounds.

Having said that if the club had agreed 4 or 5 year contracts last year (distinctly possible given the crest of the wave we were on) the compensation package would have been significantly higher.

Its swings and roundabouts - but if he needs sacking then we get rid no matter the cost; currently the board beleive he is the best man for the job and will turn it round so are backing him.
