Here's The Proof That We Struggle Without Buendia!

Recommended Posts

Buendia is the only Norwich player who features in the Championship's top assist makers.  Brentford meanwhile, have 4 players on the list!  Are our other players not creative enough, or do we deliberately focus our play through Buendia?  Surely it can't really be as simple as stop Emi and you therefore stop Norwich?  Can it?

It’s just telling us something that we already know and it has been discussed on here that our midfield (buendia aside) is not creating/chipping in enough

All that is fine but it doesn't take into account the total number of goals scored.

By definition, assists only count as assists when a goal is scored.

As Brentford have scored 17 more goals than us it follows that overall they would have had 17 more assists.

If we had converted more chances then we would have had more assists and it is probable that we too could have more than one player on the assists list.

The only thing that that chart proves is that we need to score more goals

So far this season we have been creating plenty of chances, each striker provides a threat - I wonder if we are just snatching at them and not creating enough breakaway opportunities.
