Swansea’s extra preparation time

Recommended Posts

How is there not a full round of fixtures midweek next?

Norwich have the misfortune of travelling to Millwall Tuesday night whilst Swansea can fully prepare for the visit of Norwich  next Friday without the risk of injuries and fatigue.

As with facing Watford when it was their first game under a new manager, the timing of the Swansea game doesn’t exactly favour Norwich.

Could argue we've got the luck of the draw with Middlesborough tomorrow. They played Rotherham midweek, we didn't have a midweek game.

Middlesbrough played midweek and we've had a whole week to prepare for it. What goes around comes around, we've got the points on the board.

If we can win tomorrow and beat Millwall, then we can play 'relaxed' football against Swansea , and if we do that, it could be a hell of a game. What we don't want to do (and I firmly believe we won't) is look to Swansea and take our eye off the Millwall game and take it as a given.

As Wolfy said, we’ve had a whole week to prepare for our game tomorrow whilst our opposition has had less than half that time to prepare since a 3-0 home defeat against relegation threatened Rotherham. If we win, we will be in the autos by at least 8 points, and in the title race by at least 6

Yes Swansea will have had longer than us next week but if we beat Millwall a draw at the Liberty will be fine for us. I am a bit unsure about Millwall though as it finished goalless at Carrow Road and the Lions have also recently held Watford and Bournemouth to draws.

Beating all 3 would be great - 62 points already on the board this season

It is a bit of a pain but it is what it is - these things happen; the games next midweek are mostly postponements from the Cup, Swansea obviously rearranged their fixture differently.
