Troy Deeney says Watford are coming for us

Recommended Posts

I read this thread with gritted teeth as sometimes things like this come back to bite you on the backside so it is worth bearing in mind Deeney has yet to pay us a visit to Carrow Road before the season is over for those mocking and poking fun at him.

Obviously.

But I don't remember either of them returning to Norwich City upon release...

The fact that they had both already left Norwich (and Mendham stopped playing years before his conviction) is irrelevant.

NN in avoiding the facts shocker.

We could put one of these in the away dressing room so that he feels at home....

I mean we could but that would make us awful **** so I'd advise against it...

Not one for forgiveness once people have served their time are you NN.

How did you feel when Ched Evans signed for us on loan. (I realise his sentance was overturned than served)

Or, you know, just letting a man move on from his past mistakes after he's done his time.

While Nutty has a lot of skills I don't think he's able to see the future- Evans situation happened well after he joined us.

True. Shame about Peter. My son was in NZ and playing for a club called Miramar who at that time had a link with us and players went out in the close season.

And whereas they didn't like big head, greedy John Fashanu, they absolutely loved Peter and evidently it was tearful when he played his last game for them and during a presentation afterwards.

Deeney comes across as another John Fashanu to me.

It's just different rules.

Peter didn't return to his air ambulance role. Rightfully I guess. But if he'd still been playing at Norwich would he have been kept on? Who knows. But he continues to pay the price even to the point Jarrolds cancelled his book launch (although I believe they still sell it?!)

It's amazing the allowances some posters are prepared to make for footballers that they wouldn't make for ex footballers.

Errm, no?

If I found out one of my colleagues had done time for assault I wouldn't randomly bring in a ball and chain for him either.

What a weird thing to say.

Of course I really was going to put a ball and chain in the dressing room.

What colour goes with pink?

And yet you and others are quite happy to go after Peter Mendham on here.

Starstruck I reckon...

I’m just understanding the rules to this. You can load the gun then fire the gun but then say leave me out if it, ok.

Spot on Midlands. No one can upset NN.

What is the relevance to Peter Mendham. Why did you find it necessary to even bring him up?

Whilst at the same time portraying your forgiving nature. To footballers. Not ex footballers.

Amazing.

Deeney, Mendham, Eagle-all are completely different-different crimes, different punishment, different situations following their punishment.

The only thing they have in common is that they have served the sentence passed down to them by the criminal justice system in this country.

That’s good enough for me so I say they should be allowed to get on with their lives.

Relevance to Peter Mendham?

Fourth time now.

Is it because he's an ex-Norwich player that you felt it needed to be raked up on here?

NN shouts out another poster for ignoring his posts. Oh the irony is off the scale.

Whilst I agree in sentiment Mr Angry the difference in the way each has been treated since serving the sentence is stark.

Weird for me to be the one to bring it back on topic but if you were Watford with that squad you should really be winning this league or worst case a very close second. I imagine their wage bill is almost double ours, if not more.
