FA Cup run v League title

Recommended Posts

Dies it have to be an 'either/or' ?

The obvious downsides this season are that we have wall to walk games through Feb.

Sat and midweek games from 6th Feb - 6th March so is it worth adding more games

given that usual money spinners are not so important at the moment

and without fans at games the money earned would be far less

ps I have a bet on us doing the Championship double - winning both

The squad can handle both (for at least 22 more hours at least!).

Let's go for both with some vigour

Winning is a good habit.

I think Farke will take it as far as he can.

Would be great to see us line-up against Chelsea and see just how far we've come.

I can’t see us doing a Leeds, but what I don’t like about Farke is that he takes the cup seriously, Lambert called it an “ugly distraction”. There isn’t much money in it either which we don’t need, and I want us to concentrate on the league and would be more than happy to see us use our fringe players in it. Going on a cup run means more games, which means more chances for fatigue, injuries, and suspensions. There are loads of midweek fixtures crammed in due to the late start to the season, and luckily we haven’t had any fixtures postponed yet due to Covid. Barnsley say they’re going to field a full strength side and hopefully Farke won’t, giving some players like Barden, Mumba, Placheta and Martin a go rather than an unchanged side from the victory over Bristol City.

I won’t be interested in the cup until we manage become an established PL side, although I didn’t mind it last season as by then relegation was pretty obvious

agree with all if the above

whatever team is put,it will be one committed to winning

'however should it not be a win, it certainly won’t be the end of our season, nor a great financial hit in the grand scheme of things

though as ever I want us to win

Its a good opportunity to play the fringe players so they can show case what they can do

Championship and FA Cup Double? How many times has that been done? Has it ever been done?
