Chasing pack

Recommended Posts

If they all close the gap we could end up with more teams on 2 points per game than I can ever remember.

22 games 44 points.

Thanks to the point we won today.

To be fair, Wednesday nights games include Brentford vs Bournemouth and Swansea vs Reading, so at least 2 of the top 6 are about to drop points. A draw in both games would be very preferable. Makes it a bit more frustrating though that we couldn’t extend our lead at the top tonight, knowing that a couple of the teams right below us are about to lose ground.

If Bournemouth win tomorrow and their game in hand against Millwall (which has been rearranged for January 12th) they’ll go above us on goal difference.

At the weekend, Swansea play Watford and Bournemouth go away to Stoke, so there is certainly a chance that some of the chasing pack will drop more points (though we have to play our part too by beating Barnsley, something that is far from a given).

Not at all worried. As has been mentioned previously, we have played the majority of the top half of the table at their home grounds. Bournemouth, Watford, Swansea, have not.

Every team has a little bump like this - in fact if I am not mistaken, in our title winning year we lost one and drew one around the Christmas break, then put in a great shift against Birmingham. If we can replicate that - no worries 🙂

Be even better if we can actually have a fully fit squad for a change seems Rare these days , with all fit we IMO have the strongest team in this league
