*****Official Match Thread v Watford*****

Recommended Posts

Feels like one one side it'd be harsh, on the other based on the decisions against Emi for example, Sarr could easily be off and possibly Capoue too

Much better since Vrancic has come on, again.

Yup. Already done more than Dowell and Cantwell combined.

It’s just like last year, big physical team with good pace, height and decent technical skills outmuscle us. Watford may be the only team in this division with that combination, but the PL has several. This likely result not a big surprise.

I don't recall Cantwell playing much with Vrancic. I think Cantwell would excel and be more consistent with Vrancic playing with him, same for Buendia. It was disappointing to see Vrancic dropped for Dowell.

Would love to disagree with you but can’t. We’ve been outmuscled and outfought all over the pitch and Foster hasn’t had a difficult save to make, while we’ve conceded a number of guilt-edge chances. Been very lucky to keep this 1-0 and even with the changes we just don’t look like cutting them open and putting ball in net.

Why do we  NEVER attack crosses. That wasn't an awful cross by Josh Martin, keeper would probably have still got it but we had 3 players there who didn't move an inch and you can always try and force the error / cause a defender to ignore keepers shout and panic.

Hugill in particular frustrating for never just attacking the ball even when its 25/75 its worth jump.... saw Holt comparisons when he signed, doesn't appear to have that sort of hunger at all. He's the new Marley Watkins.

This could have been a rerun of any number of our games last season against the likes of Palace, West Ham, Brighton.

Oh well. We are still top by 4 points. Roll on 2021.

Tim Krull back please ... he makes a huge difference to the way we play.

And put the blue shirts away please. No need to ever see those again, yellow shirts for the rest of the season.

Not one player has played to potential. Aarons has been disappointing all night

The best bit of defending he did all night was to prevent a Pukki chance at the end.
