*****Official Match Thread v Cardiff*****

Recommended Posts

With Dowell, Rupp and Hugill now back in the squad we no longer are down to the 'bare bones' - and McGovern has calmed many nerves after his recent games

It is in our hands now

2-0

Great to see Todd starting and Ruppinho on the bench.

Hopefully get to see Dowell come on at some point.

What a bench....  DF will be able to park the bus, throw the kitchen sink at them if we are losing, simply freshen it up with new legs, and blood few youngsters depending on how the game is going.  OTBC

Strong line up and fantastic to see our bench getting stronger and stronger with each week that goes buy. I think once we get Krul back we can really start to look to push on and try to build up some momentum and distance. Fingers crossed, my old man is at the game today and I'm thrilled for him to get to finally see a game again!

Like the team. Like that we are at home.

Today I would love 3 things pre Christmas:

1. That we produce a performance

2. To be more comfortable in the last 10 minutes because we have at least a 2 goal cushion

3. That we score from a corner

I'm very hopeful of #1, far less convinced of #2 and have no confidence at all about #3!

But, to get 3 points and for there to be 6 points between us and second place before the 3pm kick offs will be a very nice present 🎁🙂

Pretty much my first choice line up except Krul. Need to move the ball quickly to exploit Cantwell's industry, Vrancic passing and Emi magic.

Same except I think I'd probably have Gibbson in for ZIm

No Murphy.... injured

And the taffs have a few others out likewise

Worth noting thier massive 6ft 6 14 stone striker is out too..

Which given how many corners we tend to give away and how poor we are at defending them is a big relief

That’s a good line up but the danger today is very obviously from set pieces and crosses into the box. Need to control possession and keep them away from our area and avoid giving stupid free kicks away.

A clean sheet today would be an absolutely outstanding result. Even if it's 0-0, that'd still be a great result against a very physical side on great form. If we win to nil today, we'll be in a phenomenally strong position psychologically as well as in terms of the table.

Let's hope we do what we did at Reading....press them high. Make them uncomfortable in possession. Knock their confidence. We have the energetic team to do it for a good percentage of the game.

Yeah, a clean sheet would be brilliant today, be nice if we could be really ruthless with our chances, I think both Blackburn and Reading were lucky not to concede more against us!

I hope I’m wrong but I just don’t see a clean sheet. I think we will concede at least once from a set piece. But I think we have two or three goals in us

Much more comfortable looking at our squad nowadays. It was tense few weeks there, but amazingly Norwich played some of their best football. NCFC 2 - 0 Cardiff
