lake district canary 4,830 Posted November 25, 2020 I know there was no crowd to react to Pukki's first goal last night, shame really because the quality of that strike was world class. On the left hand side of the penalty area, being forced wide with two defenders about to crowd him out, no-one to pass to, his only option was to shoot - and boy did he hit that well. Not a hit and hope, not an "oh well, I might as well give it a crack" - no, it was a sensational hit with his left foot, showing yet again he scores well with either foot. What a legend he is turning out to be!
BroadstairsR 2,273 Posted November 25, 2020 Stoke fans claiming that their young 'keeper was at fault, the commentator saying the 'goalkeeper stood no chance.' It was a precision strike and I wouldn't blame the 'keeper at all, but then I'm not a Stoke fan. Good to see Pukki back to his confident best. I had noticed that, during his barren run, he always seemed to take that extra touch when put through in similar circumstances and opportunities were wasted. Last night's goal showed that he has regained the confidence to strike on sight. His first touch was a chest down and then a hit.
Fiery Zac 1,066 Posted November 25, 2020 Our build up play was fantastic a number of times. With Pukki and players like Emi, Martin, Stiepermann behind we will create and score plenty of goals. Our injury list is bad but will only be a real crisis if we lose Pukki and/or Emi for a sustained period. Hopefully Pukki will be ok for the weekend!

I'd give him a rest this weekend if his hamstring isn't 100%.

Stiepermann would be my choice, but any of them really.

Fr. Chewy Louie 140 Posted November 25, 2020 If his injury is serious that's a massive blow. As you say, would definitely be benching him Saturday if we had another fit striker. Failing that, Martin / Placheta / Stiepermann could all maybe fill in (or a youth player)?
