today's team now up

Recommended Posts

I know people get a bit wet about two strikers but that team lacks any creative spark in the middle.  Stipermann could hold it up and move it on well, but that's lacking.

We will win 8 nil now.

I'd put Vrancic in personally. Some say he has legs of lead, but for me he passes like they are magic wands.

DF explained clearly how is using Mario at the moment in last inerview i saw. We start solid, then use Mario as ' not so secret weapon ' should we need or want to.

I think if we struggle to score again in what should be an 'easier (none are easy) match then it will become impossible not to find room for somebody like Vrancic is the starting 11 going forward. Yes a Wes like figure.

Vrancic will come off the bench if needed but I like this set up.

Will be interesting to see if Pukki can do more from this deeper role.

Also, I dont see Wycombe being able to do what Birmingham did on Tuesday with anywhere near the level of effectiveness.

13 goals conceded this season,  I'd be concerned if it takes 80 minutes to break this lot down.

Over 90 mins. I think Mario will give away a goal, but the ideal guy to bring on in last week's situation where we're totally dominant but cannot pick a way through.

Hello Corky,

I'd just like a bit of Mario early on - he gives us something no-one else seems to.

I understand Farke's reasons for picking the current team...but I'm sure he'll come round to my way of thinking eventually.Â đŸ˜‰

Hi Strappo, I Love Mario's  sublime skills too, will love it when ' team efficiency' reaches a level that accommodates Mario from the start too.  For the moment I think Farke is right to start solid.

The objective needs to be to get Top 2 asap and stay there. You never know if this season will actually finish.

Farke is giving Pukki every possible chance to get on the scoresheet and get his MOJO back.

Can understand why we are unchanged.

I really Marco but if we're being honest, he gave the ball away incessantly last time he played. He has lots of positives, particularly when he carries the ball. Against a Wycombe team likely to sit back, that won't be very effective. He struggles in games with lots of tight marking because he has the first touch of a trampoline and these looses touches get picked off quickly. Like I say, I like Mario and feel he has an important role this season, but I don't think this type of game would favour his strengths.

I have to say I'd have preferred to see Pukki given a breather, but there's a very cogent argument for keeping him on and seeing if he scores one.

We have to watch out for their set-pieces though, Jacobson can really hit them.

The pairing of two DCMs in the middle is a much needed effort to adjust us for the Premier League next season. If we do go up we'll really need that solidity.

It has been said before but the lack of defenders is frightening. Not one on the bench today. I know we haven’t got any fit enough to actually go on the bench, but that doesn’t make it any less worrying each time you see it! One knock to our two injury prone centre halves or a late challenge on one of the wing backs when bombing forward and what do we do?

Disappointed not to see Zimbo able to make the bench. Hopefully this is the last game he misses as we could do with his cover.

Effectively a 4-2-2-2 formation, as both Buendia and Cantwell drift into central. Hope it works more effectively today. Let’s go lads!

I like this formation, other than Zimbo for Hanley it’s pretty much our strongest 11.
