WD40 726 Posted October 3, 2020 Stellar for 1/2 seasons at West Ham then got beyond himself and turned the atmosphere toxic. Petulance on the field and petulance when taken off. Didn’t light the creative spark we needed either so where do we go from here? Get top quids and try and reinvest in a quality replacement.
Alex Moss 2,167 Posted October 3, 2020 Threw his hands up as he was walking down the tunnel after the substitution, could’ve been disappointed we weren’t winning, could’ve been disappointed he’d not put himself in the shop window. Not sure what to think.

Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 4,615 Posted October 3, 2020 I don't think Buendia's behaviour or attitude is anywhere close to Payet's when he left West Ham.
TeemuVanBasten 3,328 Posted October 3, 2020 Farke is our Graham Taylor.
Keith Scott 294 Posted October 3, 2020 Passionate, fiery, frustrated by players around him not playing to his level, and not seeing what he can. Our most talented player by a mile. We'll miss him when he's gone and any fans criticising him don't deserve him. Cheers. K. Scott.

King of spain 5 Posted October 3, 2020 Surprising to see that so many people on here think Buendia's 'attitude' outweighs the quality he brings to the team. He is worth his weight in gold, even on a day like he retained possession in situations which any other player would have lost the ball. However, we cannot rely on one player. We've got to see more of Idah and Hugill, Pukki really seems to lack confidence at the moment.

Apart from anything else Taylor took Watford into the top-flight twice so here's to Farke doing the same with Norwich.

He was very disappointing by his high standards, a few nice moves aside. Granted, those are your thoughts and not his, but there were players on the pitch today that were superior to him.
ron obvious 1,711 Posted October 3, 2020 He was poor today, lost the ball too easily & his intricate passing didn't work. Looks nothing like the player of two years ago. Whether that's entirely down to him or the team around him is difficult to say.
Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted October 3, 2020 Buendia is still our match winner if we can keep him. This was his first game of the season and there were a lot worse than him on show, he clearly is frustrated at the moment on and off the pitch. On the pitch it must be hard seeing most of your attacking colleagues mentally heads down picking the wrong options so often. Confidence is a fragile thing when it is lost and can take a lot of character to get back, some never do

I suspect that is because many people don't share your view of the quality that he brought to the team - not today certainly and actually not for a long time. I imagine that it is difficult for all the players to play these artifical games in empty stadiums and perhaps more so for some than others - maybe Emi is one whose temperament finds it harder than average but in truth his poor form extends back to well before the lockdown. It would be great to have Emi firing on all cyclinders again but today he was nowhere near - IMO he should have been subbed before Stiepermann who was causing Derby far more problems. Not sure what to think. Could have been wondering how the hell he was being subbed when we needed to make something happen for the points, yet Rupp and Skipp kept on the pitch (and I'm not saying either had a bad game). I think that one of the two (probs Rupp) should have made way for Hugill, Vrancic then played alongside Skipp, with one of Buendia, Pukki or Idah in the no 10 role. Ironically it was Idah's misplaced pass that set them free, then Rupp's reckless tackle which cost us the game, had the suggested changes been made, that wouldn't have been able to happen (isn't hindsight wonderful!). Still the same problem again though when you don't have Vrancic in the middle, no real creativity from the centre, and it was interesting to see that within minutes of him coming on, he's played a fantastic ball over to Aarons which forced a good save, now imagine if we'd had that sort of thing for the full game... Alex Moss 2,167 Posted October 3, 2020 Fair opinion, Indy, however to lay the blame with Rupp is just not fair. Even the top teams know the value of a professional foul. It cost us this time, but he played well throughout the 90mins overall and there’s no way he should be singled out for stick today by some sections of the support. Indy_Bones 444 Posted October 3, 2020 I'm not simply laying the blame with Rupp (I did point out he had a decent game), but out of him and Skipp to substitute, I'd rather he be the one to make way, and I firmly believe that one of them should have been taken off instead of Buendia, leaving Vrancic to fall in alongside the other. Both of them together is the same problem we have when McLean is alongside Skipp - little to no creativity from the middle, which is fine if you're making a change to defend a lead, but not when you're looking to win games and get balls to the forwards. mannings bandy legs 439 Posted October 3, 2020 Give Buendia a break. He's a special talent, one of the best we've had here for years.Ok,might be bit too feisty at times for his own good and is always liable to give the ball away at times, but given a decent run in the team he could still be the one player who can kickstart our season.

......and Smith must score. 1,596 Posted October 4, 2020 Buendia is one of those footballers who's the dog's b*llocks when things are going well but can't be relied on when they aren't. Unfortunately things have not been going well lately.
