The self importance of the Alice band

Someone’s mentioned the 70s but I’m surprised nobody has mentioned the hair from that decade. I loved the Soccer Stars sticker albums and the great styles on show.

Here are 4 great heads of hair.

I could have sworn there was a Twitter account that posted something along the lines of cr4p 70s footballers’ hair but I can’t find it. I did stumble across this collection of domestic photos of 70s players which has some classic shots, and several who look like serial killers, Mick Mills in particular. As one of the comments says, this was in the days when the players weren’t that different to the people watching them.

Nothing against men with long hair in the 80's but the question was about alice bands and none off those long haired footballers in the photographs wore alice bands.

The question was how do people feel about guys like todd wearing alice bands to play football. Not only does he wear an alice band but gloves also I mean come on

Dear Editor

I've just been watching a bit of ManC v Arsenal on the BBC and have to say that many of the young chaps are wearing these alice band things.

A young blonde chap called Stephen Houghton is actually Captain!

Where will it end?

Jamal Lewis & Andy Carroll?

I couldn't care a less.

Subject = the heights of triviality.

Btw: Lewis Carroll + Alice  in Wonderland ... Alice band. = weak joke.
