A quick look suggests Brussels (and Dublin) are reasonably happy as the main belligerent has gone and now we may be able to sort out the Brexit messes in an adult fashion.

Moscow are pretty happy at the damage he has already done to this country and its reputation. The Russians have done well with Trump and Johnson.

It was never a surprise that Putin encouraged both Trump and Brexit. Not because he believed in them personally but simply because they weakened and fractured the West from a long term perspective. Divide 'n conquer and all that.

Nah! I'm just pointing out that this third-rate football forum has a disproportionate amount of socialist pseudo-philosophers in its Non-Football echo chamber.

I'm not defending Johnson - but who on earth wants to inherit this current world of sh!t?

Thanks for your scintillating intellectual input. Must be amazing possessing such insight. Perhaps you might enlighten us with your research into the appropriate number (not "amount") of "socialist pseudo philosophers" allowed on a "third rate football forum".

So like a bad smell Johnson wants to hang around Downing St.

So what happens if the Privileges Committee finds he's misled parliament and he has to resign (again) 🙄

Totally absurd situation. An inept Tory party can't even organise a resignation.

Get Raab in tomorrow.

The Metro headline this morning: "LEAVE MEANS LEAVE".  Nice one.

That is because you read the Mail and think Russia is left wing socialist.

Perhaps they should now start a formal investigation into 'wasting police time' with some of the editors of the daily fails. It was after all just a political stunt to help 'their' man.

Indeed! looking forward to the Daily Fail covering the costs of Durham Police for this utterly pointless attempt to distract from Johnson's depravity. Mind you, it must really hurt the Fail's thicko editors to know that they have contributed magnificently to clarifying the very clear distinction between the scum bag they continue to support and the integrity of Starmer and Rayner.

Actually I rather hope Starmer goes really OTT with these people at the press conference.

He should be really really angry, furious and let it show as to the politically inspired waste of police time that tried yet again to smear and undermine our democracy.

These 'rags' often claim to be the 'voice of the people' - more like the 'deceivers' of the people. Perhaps they should reimburse the police for their costs.

Starmer going OTT would be one for the cameras. He might even say bleddy beggar I'm ruddy upset.

From "third-rate" to "foremost" in the space of a few hours. May I congratulate my fellow "socialist pseudo-philosophers" for this remarkable transformation in performance. Well done guys!

I'm beginning seriously  to wonder whether the timing of this news from Durham police is a sign that they were determined to get one over the Tory scumbags who forced them to waste time and money re-opening this investigation. Yesterday, we witnessed the defenestration of a sleazy PM by his OWN party because it can no longer tolerate the fact that he is a corrupt liar and fraud. Today, Durham police confirm that the leader of the Labour party, in complete contraposition, has acted with integrity and decorum. Coincidental juxtaposition? I think not!

To be frank, ever since Johnson "Got Brexit done", just about everything the RWNJs worship has proved to be a laughable and shameful failure.

I hope so too because its pretty clear that despite all the abuse that ordinary people as well as politicians have received for decades from the gutter press in this country, that not even the Leveson report (10 years ago now!!) has resulted in the Tories doing anything material to introduce a proper Press Code and Press complaints procedure which would preclude (or at least if not punish) such appalling behaviour as this - which lets face is just par for the course as far rags such as the Mail & Express are concerned.

The reason that this corrupt Tory party has taken no action is of course blindingly obvious - they are the party massively benefits from the antics of the gutter press, and despite the false promises made to implement Leveson they are perfectly happy to let the abuse continue.

Agree with this. It's been grim for a very long while. And they've been having a right good laugh at everyone for too long with the events that have taken place. The joke has been on the centre and left and I think on reflection you have to just enjoy these moments. Even if it is arguably not the greatest look to enjoy the pain of others. On this occasion it is one small drop in the ocean of happiness. May there be many more.

As for the INF (as a poster has labelled this part of the forum) may the Intellectual News Forum flourish😅
