A Load of Squit

New Tory Leader

Recommended Posts

That was the beginning of the end those parties, all while we had to follow rules and spend up our noses on a night out with meals after every drink. I doubt Boris and his cronies did that at his parties.

My Google Photos memories came up last year with December 18th of the better half and myself of a night out in Truro staying in a hotel. We had to follow the “substantial meal” rules, were not allowed to leave our table and lean over talking to our friends on the other table. We ended our night early because the costs were going up due to cheesy chips after every drink and retired to the hotel to watch TV.

Why December 18th?. Well, that was the day they had a party, had no rules to follow while us alongside the rest of the public had to.

It wasn’t just nights out, but also while he was rule breaking and let others do the same, people missed out on funerals and had to do it on Zoom, missed out on child births or stood behind a pane of glass….. all this happened while Boris laughed at us and killed Christmas. I had a feeling at the time when he announced lockdowns and cancelling Christmas that he was enjoying it and I was right. The way he whipped out that piece of paper announcing tiers and said “we cannot continue with Christmas”, was done with no emotion or compassion at all.

There was a meme of a crowd of people at the bottom and Boris at the top. Above Boris it said “He didn’t cancel Christmas”, with “They did!” below the crowd.

Well, they both did, as Boris contributed towards the problem, as well as his team who attended.

Good riddance Boris, the worse PM ever, ever, ever.

He's staying on because he wants his  wedding party at Chequers. The big fat moocher.

Added word for clarification. The fat bludger.

Now we have to endure all the usual bull and insincere carp from all those who a fortnight ago were wheeling themselves out to praise and sustain the posturing, gesturing idiot.

Good of the whatever, integrity of whatever, owe to whoever and don't forget me in the next two or three months.

There lies the reason so many might prefer something other than so called democracy.

Perhaps Adolph is still out there in the wilds of Argentina.

Have they announced details of the leaving party?

Should be a top night 😀

Christ if there's a party at Downing street we'll have to go into lockdown again.

Resignation Watch latest:

Rachel McLean - Home Office junior miniser

Craig Williams - PPS

Mark Logan - PPS (MP for 'red wall' Bolton)

Minor heads-up, not all of Bolton is "red wall" territory. Logan is in Bolton North-East, which was usually favouring Labour but not massively so until Logan turned it in 2019. Bolton South-East is usually one of the safest Labour seats in the country, but Bolton West, after years of being a bellweather seat, became one of the safest Tory seats in Greater Manchester last time out.

That said, I would not be all that surprised if Bolton West switched as it was traditionally VERY close-run there.

So like a bad smell Johnson wants to hang around Downing St.

So what happens if the Privileges Committee finds he's misled parliament and he has to resign (again) 🙄

Totally absurd situation. An inept Tory party can't even organise a resignation.

Get Raab in tomorrow.

Must admit I can't wait til this *ucker leaves. And some of the appalling light weight cabinet with him. Just being really honest.

On reflection, IF he goes soon I reckon it's possible I will not even be posting my thoughts as much (or at all possibly) on the government. That will be welcome news to those here to the right. But whilst I would still not agree with Tory values or many policies, just to have a benign steady proper government would be a huge relief.

These last 3 years have been so shockingly bad in my view (and since 2016 too with Brexit I suppose). Johnson has brought a great malaise to our country. He has been a failure in so many ways. To post has been a way to articulate the anger I've felt at times. I'm hopeful I won't feel the need to in future.

Your summary adjective "absurd" is just about right. Everything about this recent administration has been absurd.

“Corks popping in Brussels and Moscow”.

Okay, I doubt the EU care about us anymore and Moscow should remember that we had two PMs during WWII.

I definitely think it's fair to say that the last election was a vote for BJ rather than the Conservative party. I also think it's fair to say that, however badly the Conservatives were going to to do with BJ at the next election, they're going to do a lot worse without him, especially given that BJ will throw money at stuff, but the rest of the Conservative party wants low taxes and low spending, which is going to be awful for the country up until another GE.

For the good of the country and confidence in politics, I'm glad BJ has resigned, but I must be honest that I've enjoyed the upset he has created for those of a bureaucratic disposition. Whatever you think of him, those who really wanted to thwart Brexit tried to create a legalistic Gordian knot instead of simply appealing to the public directly at two GEs, and he cut right through it. One way or the other, his place in history is secure.

Mail headlines suggest ousting Boris, then moans about campaign to oust Boris as Boris is ousted and then mourns Boris being ousted. 🤣

At some point (let's say 2032) Johnson, as a creaky older man, will be waking up in the early hours and will stare at the ceiling and ask himself "what the hell have I done". It may take a decade but at some point a world king, one without without much of a throne, will gain some perspective. Wonder whether this happens before the Mail changes its spots?

But before then I'm afraid, we will have the long tail to follow his short 3 years to live through as we get to learn by way of the drip, drip of news, more and more of his misdemeanours in office. A lot has reached the public domain but I'm betting on much more to emerge.

I know Russian intelligence has been pretty poor of late, but I doubt Moscow thinks any of the other candidates are going to change policy on Ukraine.

As for the rest of it, Boris would have been electoral poison. He has lost his allure for most voters and the relative mainstream of the British electorate had decided that he was a liar and corrupt. The mail not reading the room at all is bizarre.

A quick look suggests Brussels (and Dublin) are reasonably happy as the main belligerent has gone and now we may be able to sort out the Brexit messes in an adult fashion.

Moscow are pretty happy at the damage he has already done to this country and its reputation. The Russians have done well with Trump and Johnson.

I would say with this particular person, the right approach and response is to be inclined to do the opposite of what he does or says -  a full 180 degrees.

It is incredible this morning to hear Tory MPs saying we should respect him as a caretaker PM. It would be equally incredible given the biggest mass resignation in political history, a move against their own PM, to then allow the incumbent to remain for not just a day or two, not even a week or a few months. It indicates a government that is literally incompetent. Where are the sage heads? Seemingly retired ones and former PMs or cabinet ministers. Unless they act it demonstrates a really weak party. If this was a Labour administration by the way I would be equally condemning.

This man has obviously changed the culture so badly that any clarity / clear-headed common sense is dearly missing.

Is that really the best you can come up with? You're simply confirming just how miserably bad things are for Johnson such that all you can say in his defence is that Russia are happy to see the clown dethroned.

Nah! I'm just pointing out that this third-rate football forum has a disproportionate amount of socialist pseudo-philosophers in its Non-Football echo chamber.

I'm not defending Johnson - but who on earth wants to inherit this current world of sh!t?
