It’s the fact that she thinks she is Prime Minister material that is staggering to me. Although I guess it is a perfect example of the complete lack of self-awareness in the whole government. AND HE’S GONE!

Nuff Said 4,938 Posted July 7, 2022 I still agree with @PurpleCanary. The best scenario for those of us who want the Tories out would have been for him to limp on to the next election. But this sh1t show is probably the next best option. Now for a rancorous leadership campaign, followed by the election of a complete numpty like Truss.

The whole cabinet built by Boris should be gone, if the Conservatives want to build on the next election then they need to find a fresh candidate from left field, not one who’s been part of the supporting lies!

His whole life and career has been an exercise in solipsistic self-interest and never involved having any sympathy or fellow-feeling for anyone. This is immodest of me, but now 126 Recommends and rising for these same sentiments on the FT site.

Capt. Pants 4,092 Posted July 7, 2022 There will be major **** kissing of the new leader from those Ministers who have resigned and effectively don't have a job. It will be pitiful.

Yellow Fever 3,690 Posted July 7, 2022 (edited) From SKS perspective this will work out quite well. Pity for the country though. A lame duck PM despised by all through the summer - may even yet cause more problems - and a new Tory PM to inherit the s h i t storm of rising gas / cost of living prices which will hit by the autumn - that will sink any government. Unless the Tory's drastically change course and mend fences what could possibly go wrong? Edited July 7, 2022 by Yellow Fever

horsefly 4,263 Posted July 7, 2022 How the fuc*k will he manage to rule during the transition period now he has lost all authority? Is he going to re-appoint all 50+ ministers who have just described him as a man without integrity? What a shi^t storm! And all so very predictable from the day the idiotic shameless Tories voted him as leader.

Two years to sort out movement of people to allow jobs to be filled which the British population don’t want to fill!, to concentrate on UK issues like the lack of NHS dental care, longest waiting lists in history for the NHS, cut fuel duty and tax to aid companies to carry on, to sit down with the EU and with NI & Irish government to sort out the border issues to a satisfactory outcome, to deliver to the UK electorate the promises they made. Can’t see it happening!

Can’t see it happening! Its more than that Indy. Coming in now as a new PM when it can only get worse in the short term even if you did everything 'right' you'll still get the blame. In a year or two - GE time - things will at least I think be stably worse. That then is the time to come in and take the credit for making things work. The flip side of this is that Biden is having to cope with a similar (it could be argued not quite as bad) situation in the US, so it is enabling Trump and his followers to get back into power. Nearly as bad for us as a Johnson/Tory government and quite possibly worse globally.
