Positives from today

Recommended Posts

We ended our poor losing home record.

We managed to get points from a losing position for the first time in 16 months.

We scored a late goal to gain points, almost 2018/19 esque.

Pukki scored and looked back to his best.

Plachetta looks the real deal and an ideal replacement for Emi Beundia.

We're fourth in the league after 2 really challenging games.

Lots to be positive about.

Onwards and upwards.

The 1000 supporters were fricken amazing and certainly made a difference. Lets hope that we can have them back in the stadium again soon but I fear that current restrictions won't allow this to happen again for some considerable time.

Lots of positives. The team are only just starting to gel. We will improve from here, as long as the players are prepared to put in the hard work.

In case anyone may have forgotten  this fixture was a reminder that there are no easy games in this league. Whilst we have a better squad if too many players have an off day then you drop points. I enjoyed watching this on my first season ticket holders free i stream. Some negatives obviously but positives too. Pukki looked more like his old self and but for a snap save could have had 2. Idah shows a great deal of promise and has an eye for goal and Placheta should have scored from  Idahs saved shot. Plachetta will be pleased he scored or else his debut would have been remembered for that miss, but a pretty promising start to his Norwich career and things can only get better for him. We got a point which was a fair result against a very solid Preston side and in truth either side could have won it. Krul looks to have continued on from his good form last season. A few players had an off day, but with healthy competition in the squad those players will know they will have others fighting for their spots

There were plenty of positives to look at:

- 1st time we’ve avoided defeat at home since 28th February

- 1st time we’ve managed to get something out of a game after going behind since the our promotion season

- 1st time Pukki scored a goal from open play since last December, and a new signing score his 1st goal for us in just his 2nd appearance

Have seen plenty of people criticise the squad on Facebook but you can’t expect too much of them considering a lot of the players went through a horrific experience last season. Lets also remember that in our promotion season it took about 6 games until we got a victory (which I think incidentally came at home to Preston), about 10 until we started taking form, and that there’s still another 132 points available up there for grabs. We also have several new signings and you have to give them time to settle in with the rest of the team

Thought the new players generally performed well. Liked the look of Skipp in midfield and Quintilla at left back was superb considering he is following a full international in that position and this was his home debut. His set piece delivery is going to get better and he has that guile about him.

Plachetta is lightening quick and it's going to be an interesting season watching him grow in confidence, especially after his goal.

As a side note thought Idah put himself about well and changed the dynamics when he came on.

Preston are no mugs and will be up there come next May, that is for certain.

A few drinks down since the match, but it appeared to be a typical Championship affair. If you concede the first goal you're always going to be facing a low block and eight or nine outfielders behind the ball, and we had plenty of possession without a great deal of cutting edge.

The enforced substitution didn't help, as that left us with two out-and-out wingers and no physical CF to profit from crosses. Best player on the pitch was Patrick Bauer, won every single duel and was absolutely immense at the back for Preston.

Four points from six is fine, plenty of positives. It was the perfect illustration of the gap between the divisions that we didn't win a single point from a losing position last season, yet today we've come from behind twice. Big squad with lots of quality, no excuse for being outside the top six, and every chance of being in the top two.

Psychologically I think this is massive for confidence boosting

1. We came back from behind.

2. For once we improved after half time.

3. Placheta looks like he could be a handful once up to speed.

4. Idah looked a handful.

5. We’ve played quite badly in two games but yet still could have won both and have four points. We will get better.

absolutely loads of negatives but that’s not what this thread is about!

Main positive for me is remembering that if we put pressure on teams at this level they will make mistakes (unlike the Prem). We just need to sharpen up, drop the silly defensive slips and apply more concerted pressure on the opposition.
