Huge opportunity for the lad but we're safeguarding ourselves from losing him for a year, he plays next to no games and then we get him back for no real profit. They are trying to cut costs and develop a younger team at the moment. They have probably been the worst run of all the ‘super’ clubs for the last 5 or so years. Having Messi has covered the fact their team is pretty bad. A loan and return with no obligation to buy is neither good for the club or Max knowing what might be happening to him. Yet...the whole story will be a marker for other clubs and Max will I'm quite sure use the interest to continue to impress with us. He is a very level headed lad and knows he has a great future.
