i get the impression that most canary fans expected a household name to sign, and because they havent the ones we have signed must be rubbish. Rehman is a top player in the making and will be a good signing (though i doubt he''d come long term) and Johansson can be a very good player.

i am very surprised that we have been linked with defenders, is this a sign that fleming is to play right back with rehman and doherty in the middle ???

I have nothing against the players signed Rossi but I don''t understand the Rehman signing.  According to the Fulham site and their fans he is a defensive midfielder, why do we need another one of those?  We now have Rehman, Safri, Robinson, Etuhu. Hughes & Jarret to fill two positions.  Unless worthy is planning on playing him defence. 

I don''t really care who the player is but please Worthy, bring anyone in who is a specialist right midfielder.  Other than that expect to see Hughes, Jarrett & Etuhu being asked to "do a job" on the right.

rehman looks a bright prospect - why arent we actually signing him, insteasd of a pointless loan spell - maybe we can tempt him in the summer if he impresses.

Yes i wanted a big name to give the place a lift but i dont think thats gonna happen!!

Jaohansson was brought for 3 and 3/4 million, that must indicate a fair old wage???  surely if he is only going to be on loan we could save that money.  Perhaps we are not paying his full wages otherwise that is a good 200,000 pounds we are spending on bringing him here

rehman was estimated at about £3m at the end of last season (Fulham valued him a 5m!) They are trying to bring in an austrian to play centre back and have allowed rehman to go on loan. For me he is a centre back, he certainly looks better witht he ball in front of him. as i said earlier i think its so flem plays right back. I''m totally with you on the right sided player though Paul, and one worry i have is that rehman plays on the right hand side of two centre backs (doherty''s side) OH NO!   I have just had a thought that is bonkers so it may happen, flem and rehman at the back with doc and johanson up front! cant see it, what about Johannson right wing with Doherty up front. It''s so crazy its bound to happen!

Any quality player is going to be paid top wages. A loan means we pay for a shorter period without the constraint of a long contract.

Buying a player doesn''t somehow mean that the wages are lower !

I do wonder sometimes whether a lot of the people posting on here don''t live too close to the suffolk border.

yeah but if he came to norwich he would not be paid what he got at charlton.....  Also a loan means if he does a good job chances are some other teams may get interested, as he is a full international.  As this season is over why bother??

rossie as you say rehaman is a good prospect, but do we need a prospect ?. also have you seen johanssons goal scoring record ?

1 goal in 5 games. after selling the best striker in the league for 7 mill. i think we deserve to have house hold name player coming in.

all loan players do is cost us money we could spend permenent players. if we had kept the damion francis money instead of wasting it on loans we could have afforded earnshaw or jerome as well as davenport.

In all fairness Johansen should be given time, because he has scored goals and is good in the air. Rehman will be a good signing, he''s youn, quite tall and will get stuck  in, more than what can be said for 2 or 3 of our midfielders.

i''m not trying to disagree chris, but most posters on this board wanted young talent. would you be saying we dont need a prospect if we had brought in Jerome or Halford or even McSheffrey ??? Somehow i dont think so but rehman has played at a higher level than all of those mentioned. I''m not trying to defend anyone but, you are quite happy to have Davenport here, rehman was playing something that davenport never has - regular prem football. Johansson hasnt done much agreed, but if he can head the ball down and play like he has done a few years ago then he well surprise.

deep down i have always had a feeling that worthy tends to have his attention drawn to players that play well against us (McSheffrey and Jerome this season.) Previously such players included Mark Rivers, Youssef Safri, Darren Huckerby, even Rehman (played v.well against us last season) and Johansson (two goals against us last season)

loans have their place (which i think we dont use properly) they are there for clubs to boost their strength and/or quality that they otherwise would not be able to buy. It also offers the player a shop window and offers the player an incentive to play well for us.

at the end of the day, whilst there is money in the bank there is more chance that ol worthy may go and the money kept for another manager. I''m not complaining at that.
