The Club is keeping the money until it sees what next years finances look like i.e. season ticket sales and other income.

unless a major contract signing is made before the window closes, its probably clear the board can''t afford to commit to a 3m player plus a 3 year contract else not somebody like jerome or earnshaw would be winging their way here. but if thats''s the case, could they have afforded to see deano''s extended contract out anyway?  they must have budgeted for it, but obviously becuase of our disappointing season, they may have re-evaluated our income stream, re ticket sales, shirt sales etc in a downward motion.
