Aaron Wilbraham's 2 goals in 28 appearance for us might be considered abysmal, but he had a job to do and did it well. Mathias Svensson scored 11 goals in 42 for us, but was an important part of our promotion squad and scored a few in the Premier League. Its a squad game and we need options to keep the opposition guessing. We've got our false nine / poacher type if you just want to look at the goals scored column.
Parma Ham's gone mouldy 2,219 Posted August 25, 2020 Indeed Ricardo. Given the parameters, not Mr Right, though quite possibly Mr Right Now. A difficult position to fill, where the model is deliberately circumvented to some degree. Parma

He is a known quantity and we haven't paid over the odds (compared with the £7 million Wednesday were said to want for Rhodes last season).

Number9 272 Posted August 25, 2020 If, IF, he equals his best ever and gets us 15 goals this season, who is going to score the other goals we will need? Pukki can't even find his banjo, yet Farke seems to persist in pushing him into the field of cows as first choice. Idah doesn't seem to be given any time to worry the cows, although he seems as though he knows where a banjo might be.

What they miss is a decent out and out striker. Obviously not Hugill, but a Benzema or Lewandowski.

sonyc 5,516 Posted August 27, 2020 I think this lad might well become a favourite! It is time we had someone with a bit of attitude.

Well he certainly succeeded with that. It suggests that he already feels part of the team. He didn't look too rusty and seemed "up for it".
