TIL 1010 4,738 Posted August 22, 2020 You did well to find a thread about football on there as it must be well hidden among the Covid 19 and political threads. 😜 Which thread is it on ?
Canary Wundaboy 1,359 Posted August 22, 2020 With Bournemouth and Watford relegated, pray tell who these “Premier League” clubs are that they have bigger crowds than?!
sgncfc 1,227 Posted August 22, 2020 Well, they are probably partly right. I can't think of a Premier League club who would have a smaller fanbase than the bin dippers, but there are probably a couple in the Champs. Maybe Rotherham, Wycombe and Luton but that's about it. cambridgeshire canary 6,715 Posted August 22, 2020 Ah yes, Portman Road with it's 30,000 capacity sure feels full with Ipswichs (before lockdown obviously) 18,000 average attendence. Massive, huge club right there what an amazing fanbase

And they are right about Championship clubs... however if does rather miss the point; which is who is doing worse - Sunderland, Hull, Portsmouth, Ipswich... humm.... Mr.Carrow 376 Posted August 22, 2020 I'm 46 and PR has rarely sold out in my adult life. They even had tickets available the day before the playoff semi final. Truth is they are a small town club sandwiched between a bigger club to the North and lots of big London clubs.
Crafty Canary 495 Posted August 22, 2020 Fanbase and match attendance is not the same thing. Our fan base is much larger than our attendance numbers and so will theirs be. Apparently they had (still have?) a large fanbase in Poland due to their interest in tractors. 🙂
NFN FC 1,123 Posted August 22, 2020 I think they're including a lot of the North Sea as their fan base....

Also interesting to note that on social media platforms, our "following" is 4-5 times bigger than theirs.

Sure there was some grim football at PR for a few years, but when you have no money, no scouting, no academy; that's all you can play. The delusion of grandeur isnt some post about fan bases, its to think that a club which is falling apart in every other way and where the owner is a man whose sole interest in football appears to be for short term tax advantages can suddenly play promotion worthy, attractive football with none of the financial or structural support network behind it. Already had a few polish friends tell me they will keeping an eye out for us now because of him signing for us 🙂

That is something they still have not come to terms with Silly little farmhands shouting the odds at the back of the South Stand - squawking about days before their grand parents were born Deluding themselves that this is a mere hiatus, a temporary break from their rightful place at the top table - where midway in L1 is the rightful place. Those few glorious years were a few freak years owed to a couple of upper class dipsos bunging in money. They went, and it was back to normal. only this grubby little club ponced off all and sundry in their delusion of that rightful place, to the point of bankruptcy and the following dismal 20 years of failure and a downward spiral RIPswich

They say we show no ambition when we go up. They would instantly be challenging if they ever got back up obviously. Its the dream of every footballer to play in front of 8,000 bin men.
