OT - Champions League

Recommended Posts

Has to be said that it’d be better if the ref didn’t buy every single overreaction that Lyon try.

Not looking promising for ManC at all. Play disrupted all the time and ball spending a lot of the time in the air.

They have to take control and play it their way or they are out.

1-1 KDB - tbh Lyon aren’t as good as they were when they qualified (finished 7th this season) and were unlikely to keep Citeh out, but I doubt Bayern are worrying unduly about either of them based on what they’ve shown so far.

Awful officiating - the ref hasn’t had a grip on Lyon overacting all game and is unlikely to now.  That goal had to be disallowed.

....jeez what a miss by Sterling!

Interesting that the Germans who finished their season early and the French who didn't finish it at all are both through to the ECL semis. EPL teams had to cram 9 games in.

Obviously had a massive impact.

That second goal should have never stood and the horrendous miss by Sterling pretty much summed that game up!
On their day they’ll beat anyone but Citeh are just not good enough often enough this season.

That Sterling miss is horrendous but what games like this really show is that Jesus is never going to be Aguero.

Jesus is obviously a quality player with great movement but he doesn't have that clinical and almost selfish streak that Aguero has.

I've really enjoy the format;

One Leg

Neutral Stadium.

Every game felt like a cup final, really entertaining.

Would love the format to stick around post Covid, would feel like a mini tournament at end of each season.

You can't help thinking Man City need to sign a proper out and out striker as a plan b. Benzema would be great.

I said the same last night, when Aguero is out they don't have another option up top, Jesus has really not progressed enough to suggest he's going to be a top level striker.
