I Told You So (Again)

Recommended Posts

Lakey may have had his moment in the sun last year, but now the proper equilibrium has been restored. You just know the Champagne Socialists will revert to type in the end.

So:

1. I said before the season started City would be relegated.

2. I said before the season started they would finish bottom of the league.

3. I said before the season started that defence would be the major issue.

4. I said beating Man City would relegate City.

5. I said beating Everton would relegate City.

Additionally, where are all those numpty supporters now who, like the board, were just gagging for Villa to be relegated?

Norwich's fellow promotees both staying up has added the final humiliation and just goes to prove that Norwich's contrarian approach to professional football has failed utterly and spectacularly. In the final analysis, it has been proven that spending £150 million buys you an extra 14 EPL points, which at that level is massive.

Delia and Wynnie are the worst owners the club has ever had. Period.

The sun is still out.

I've got news for you Vinny and you other miserabilists - the sun is still shining. New exciting young players coming in - the latest one stating what a brilliant club this is to come to - and things to look forward to.  A new challenge, a further development and improvement of what we are trying to do as a club on and off the field and if we get up again to the PL then we will be better equipped to stay there.  I know I might as well be talking to a brick wall than trying to get through to the likes of you, Vinny, but your "I told you so" is about as limp as it can get.  🌞

On that sentence at least I agree with you Lakey, it's absolutely roasting outside.

You can't make a final analysis when something isn't finished. I understand Norwich City admire and are hoping to replicate Burnley's model of the last seven seasons. If that is the case then you're only ending year two. If Norwich City are not promoted next season or at least come close then the list of failings made by the opening poster will have some validity. For now, although the season just ended has been disappointing, there's reason for much optimism going forward.

None of your predictions were/are brave or insightful (a sort of Robbie Savage level), if you'd managed to predict a global pandemic I'd have been impressed.

Villa - saved by a homegrown lad and technology failure. Value for expenditure - negligible. Watford spent more than Sheff Utd and are joining us. It's just nonsense.

He'll just go back and edit his blog & then say 'I told you so'.

£150m  spent on players plus a commensurate obligation towards their salaries also buys you receivership if you get relegated.

I actually think Delia and Michael are the best owners the club have ever had. It would have been lovely to stay up of course but to risk the club in order to do so just makes no sense.

Yep, you and numerous others, all of whom would have thought, pre-season, that points 1-3 were highly likely. No credit to you, or thanks, for 'predicting' the football equivalent of saying the sun will rise tomorrow.

4 and 5, what cobblers, anyone and everyone could claim that a particular result, would mean something.

Spending £150 million proves nothing other than you've spent £150 million.

Keep contributing the ****, at least you believe it.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Beating man city and everton didnt relegate us, losing all those game we lost relegated us

Id estimate our current owners have won the most trophies and most promotions than any other owner, I'd take that any day

This is a positive post from Pig Mince. You should've seen the draft.

I was referring to Waveney, not Pig Mince. Waveney had an odd few days when he started fellating Nephew Tom.

Not really. It's just so you can continue to play top class opposition, push yourself to the limit & thus produce those magical moments that take your breath away. Although I suppose there are some who would prefer beating the blind school 83-0 every week.

Football hasn't been a 'competitive sport' for 30 years, it's a business run and controlled by money men and we simply can't compete financially. If that upsets you, you're supporting the wrong Club.

As for supporting 1p5wich, they've won nothing for 20 years, so don't bother.

To be fair, Daniel Farke and Stuart Webber told us time and again that staying in the prem would need another miracle.  Most people, including myself, hoped that they were just saying that to not get our hopes up, but they were right.

With the impact of Covid, the league starting to punish teams for FFP, our early forays into the transfer market and our own financial position, I am confident that we will be challenging for an automatic spot next season.  Should we make it, we will not be hearing about more miracles.  We'll be in a good position to give it a good go.

Had we of been more lucky with regards to injuries to key players in key areas, I don't think we'd have been too far away from that miracle.  But if great great great great grandma was still alive, she'd be 168.

Get your tin hat out BV. Some if not all of these “happy clappers” quite simply do not see, know, or understand the bigger picture. Young players might be coming in, for what? New signing Soto is being loaned out no sooner than he arrives. For what?

A Championship club needs players who are experienced at that level. We have a club signing supposed young talent (released, injured, foreign unknowns and God knows what), for only one thing,  money making, it has nothing whatsoever to do with the club actually being competitive, just pocket lining!
