nutty nigel 7,352 Posted July 25, 2020 (edited) Facebook timelines pretty much reflect what we use it for. So for me it's a positive happy place. The stuff on the Norwich City groups will be constantly near the top the timelines of people who join the groups and read them regularly. Anyone else remember the thread on here where the OP stated Canary Player had been hacked by pornsites? In my mind's eye it could be a sketch on Harry Enfield where a guy goes into a pub for the first time ever, goes straight up to the bar, doesn't say hello or buy a drink, confronts a group of people having a chat and tells them they're saying the most idiotic and incorrect stuff he's ever heard in there and there's been some real contenders. I guess you don't find that at all amusing. Each to their own. Oh I’ve read many a post on here before Nige. Tried to register a couple times of times before but never got the confirmation email. Anyway as I’m new I don’t know all the rules so you will have to fill me in. How many months must I pretend to agree with everything you say before I can disagree? I wouldn’t want to bruise any egos...
BigGrantsTash 70 Posted August 5, 2020 Yea I understand what you’re saying. I think inevitably they’ll strengthen or try to. I think they will have to strengthen every year if they want to build. Imo they have a stronger side than last year though. I also think Villa are hoping the players they’ve signed will improve after a year in the prem. Most of their signings were in their early 20s. They might not of course. On 24/07/2020 at 09:36, Nuff Said said: You make some fair points, but I’m not sure they really invalidate what I said. If Villa have spent well, surely most of their recruitment once the season is over would be to upgrade on a couple of players? Whereas, given they have a team who at best will barely scrape 17th, it looks like they need a much more wide-ranging overhaul. You draw a comparison with us - I think if we had seen our “little miracle”, most of us would agree we would need several replacements ether than just one or two marquee-type upgrades. glory.win or die. 270 Posted August 5, 2020 In today's transfer market £150m is the value of out regular starting 11, imagine spending that and ending up with our team!
Capt. Pants 4,092 Posted August 5, 2020 Well it looks as though £100m will get you out of the Championship judging by Fulham. Or if you spend £100m trying to avoid relegation, and fail, there's still a good chance you'll come back up the following season.

There’s quite a few on here that are gutted Villa and Fulham won’t be playing Championship football next season.

Then people can reply with what they want where they want when they want. Perhaps there's an alternative universe where you didn't post, I wasn't amused and dear old Ren didn't get all precious about it. That place wouldn't be so much fun. Of course they are disappointed that the two won't be in the Championship next year - it would increase our chances of promotion if these two were also in the Championship struggling to manage their debt and FFP! Don't you want us to go up?

Badger 2,389 Posted August 5, 2020 I think that we should be better now that we have cleared the debt that we were facing - as long as we are sensible and patient and the covid thing doesn't ruin football club finances altogether. Basically, we were still suffering from McNally's last phase when he was "ambitious" - i.e. fiscally irresponsible.
