What will you miss about the Premier League?

I’ll miss the coverage, I’ll miss seeing my club up there next to the Manchester City’s, Liverpool’s and Manchester United’s of the world. I’ll miss going to see my team play at huge, amazing stadiums full of fans. I’ll miss hearing my team talked about on the radio, on the national podcasts etc. I’ll miss watching my team go up against the best players in the world, week in, week out, and seeing magical moments on the pitch like us beating Man City at home against all odds.

I certainly won’t miss some Norwich fans endlessly whining about the Premier League and being happy about relegation and saying they prefer the Champs, which is just indicative of a total lack of ambition and a willingness not to strive for better, when the club could be so much more than it is at the moment.

I agree the club "could be" so much more than it is at the moment. But then, so "could" Aston Villa, Derby County or even Forest Green Rovers. They "could" all be Champions League teams in theory.

I think the actual assessment is whether we "should" be much more than we are at the moment.

The way I see it, you give half a dozen builders the same tools and building materials then the end product will show which builder is best. The way things are in the Premier League, you've got a handful of builders given a fleet of heavy machinery, all the materials he could wish for and a wage budget to hire some of the best hands in the trade. And then trying to build something that could compare with their end product is a single brickie with a cement mixer, a pile of bricks and an apprentice who turns up hungover and late every morning. And despite that, he still builds something better than a lot of others with far more resources available.

Our club's leadership is that builder and I actually think they've built something pretty remarkable with the resources presented to them.

Yes, we "could" be so much more than we are at the moment, but I've not seen any compelling evidence to suggest we "should" be. In fact, it's about as scarce as the evidence that there are dozens of minted people that would swoop in with a £200 million transfer chest if only Delia would stop hiding them from us.

No, nothing either. Only in it for the money. VAR, MOTD, Talk****e, Mourinho, Liverpool, 5live bulletins etc, etc. All can sod off as far as I am concerned.

This about sums it up 4 me 2 ... Won't be watching MOTD that's for sure...

What will I miss about the PL...

Not much I guess. I understand the points others are making but we can only call it as it is for our own personal experience.

My personal experience is going to games, socialising with others who go to games and playing an active part in the community that surrounds our club.

Will I miss the money? No. Why would I?

Will I miss the national coverage? No I don't subscribe to any of the channels. But yet they affect me but not in a positive way. Game days and times get altered more often. At times that means that I can't go. My experience in the stadium is affected in such a way that it cost me money when I had to change my seat because the guy with the camera stood in front of me every time the ball was near the river end, corners, free kicks etc. Now I'm sure you folk who subscribe to sky sports would soon complain if sky sent someone round to stand in front of your tv when those things happened.

Also the only time everyone gets together in the pub after games is Saturday 3pm kick offs. That's the day people put aside for football.

To be fair these things also happen in the champs. Not so often though. Is it a price I have to pay for success? Is it fair I should have to pay that price? It does rankle a bit. Especially when I'm told it's the likes of me that hold the club back for others.

Will I want us to be promoted again? Of course. That's the whole point of it. I go to the games to support the team and try to help them win every game. The promotion seasons are brilliant. But then comes the realisation of less games yet more inconvenient ones. I guess that's what's called a paradox.

Magic moments like beating the champion at home........Anti VAR chants and the money!

The rest you can keep, it’s the most boring league in the world, top 8 teams trying to out do each other the rest hoping to gain enough points not to get relegated!

Just occiasionally, we upset the apple cart by beating one of the big boys. It doesn't happen very often, but you get more bites at the cherry in the Premier League.

I started supporting Norwich after Kevin Drinkell and Trevor Putney turned around a 1-0 half time deficit against Liverpool to win the game. Having not long moved to Norwich, that was the moment to say "I support my local team."

Moments like these are a wonderful reason to be in the top flight!

The clubs model is pretty dependant on Premier League money so the club will miss that (if we're not back by the time Parachute Payments stop).

From a personal point of view, games like our Man City home game are hard to beat in the Championship. Other than that, I can happily say I won't miss VAR in the slightest, I won't miss most Premier League fans, I won't miss most of the teams, I won't miss the majority of the soulless, lifeless stadiums either.

Yes I’d agree that the feeling when we beat Man City against all the odds was truly exceptional and it’s not going to be quite so intense in a lower division. At almost all away grounds you do feel a bit like the kid who’s accidentally strayed into a grown ups party. It will again be nice to experience that winning feeling more than once every six weeks or so.

Perhaps one plus was that In the space of a fortnight I got to see Norwich play at Old Trafford, St James’s Park and White Hart Lane. Three of the best grounds in Europe. We may have come away with just a single point but you don’t get to that in the Championship.

I'll miss VAR. No, wait I wont. Uh, I'll miss the pundits like Alan Shearer.. Nevermind, I won't.

Maybe I'll miss the overpaid, overpriced drama queen 'superstar' Premier League players?

... Nope, wont miss those either

This is a good point! I remember us winning away to Liverpool in 1988 , my first visit to Anfield... those are the days I remember being a supporter of NCFC in a game that wasn't dominated by the big money and the television coverage! A top reason to be in the top flight ...
But this season proved that those days seem to be just about over, ... Yes we beat Man City ... but that's about it...

Honestly, this season not much. It's been absolutely torrid, and not only down to the results on the pitch. The farcical VAR implementation, sudden ability to change rules post-lockdown just to shoehorn the games in, and general lack of entertainment across the entire season pales in comparison to the 2018-2019 season we witnessed what seems like just a few months ago.

It had a few highlights over the early part of the season, with the obvious home performances, but I don't really think I'm going to be gutted to not be in the top flight next season.

Waiting to catch our minute or two of 'fame' at the end of MOTD

Whereas I shall appreciate another 8 games

Welcoming Coventry fans back to CR after such a long break, and Wycombe who I think will be enjoying the 'back room' of dreams.

Being in the PL doesn't define our club, nor will stop there from being packed houses not memorable nights under the floodlights

It will doubtlessly be a different 11 who start the season off, with a few sad losses (though bigger bank balasnce0

So hey ho, we will start the season in a better position than previously in the CHs, and as said it will be far more fun getting back to the PL than it will be trying to stay there.

Coventry fans will appreciate that warm welcome and in large numbers (if stadiums are open to fans)

I will miss the ridiculous amount of non-UK players that are winching obscene amounts of dosh for themselves, families and - of course 10% for their ‘agent’ - for playing a couple of substitute outings and a whole load of bench warming.

Who is Barbosa D’Oliviera?

Naby Kieta

Isaac David

viteslav Jaros

Sorry - just asking

There is plenty of good coverage if you know where to look. I will miss seeing analysis from non-Norwich City fans - which is hard when the club is in the Championship.

It is also the challenge I will miss. While of course the Championship is a huge challenge and I do not underestimate how hard it will be to get top 6 - in the last 10 years Norwich have managed it a few times, what they haven’t managed is surviving in the Prem for more than a couple of seasons. Establishing themselves in the Prem is the something Norwich have never done.

Also, being in the Prem means be able to get and keep hold of better players. Slipping to the Championship may see the club lose some of the best players ever brought through the academy - when was the last time a Norfolk born and bred player made such a contribution to the first team and got into the England set-up? Relegation means it is unlikely the best player from Norfolk remains at the club.

Will also miss the money from the Prem. While in the Championship the money earned from TV and ticket sales isn’t enough to sustain Norwich with a team that can challenge for the top 6 - so it means player sales are required and too long a stay will start to threaten the long term future of the club.

So, in my view, there is plenty to miss from leaving the Prem and while going down inevitably means Norwich will win more games it also means each win means a little less. For me, the potential highs of the Premier League are far higher than the Championship and the lows aren’t as low as they can be in the Championship.

completely summarises my feelings. Is it really too much to wish that we could actually have a sustained few seasons competing properly at this level, seeing the odd cup run or push for Europe, watching potential national team players come through and flourish?

As much as i prefer the championship and seeing us win more, it has been a frustrating decade of so near yet so far to where I'd like us to be.

The question is will the Premier League miss us?

Other teams might, but my god we are a tough watch nowadays.

I will miss games south of Leicester...

Otherwise we go into a league we can win, or even get relegated again, it's that real. The EPL is just a bore.
