Michael Wynless Jones 161 Posted July 12, 2020 Another shocking decision in the Villa v Palace game. If nothing else the biggest positive of relegation is not having to put up with that piece of turd system anymore
sonyc 5,492 Posted July 12, 2020 (edited) Remember Villa getting the rub of the green versus Sheff Utd too with the ball well over the line but the goal line technology machine switched off! And then, VAR official couldn't even trouble himself to overrule! Incredible. What a shambles the officials of VAR have been. Should never be allowed in a cabin in Stockley Park again. The scandalous story of the PL season. Edited July 12, 2020 by sonyc
Well b back 3,190 Posted July 12, 2020 That is unbelievable. Apparently they actually had to check with the rules to know exactly where your arm finishes.

The scandalous story of the PL season. I would go as far as saying corrupt. They don’t want clubs like Villa going down, would prefer Watford and doesn’t it show.
Michael Wynless Jones 161 Posted July 12, 2020 Just now, Well b back said: That is unbelievable. Apparently they actually had to check with the rules to know exactly where your arm finishes. That's the scary part, that whoever the VAR official is today doesn't know the handball rule. It was clear as day it came off Sakhos shoulder, the puma badge on the shoulder couldn't have helped them more in seeing that. Dean Smith even apparently mouthed "that's a terrible decision"

AlexB11 2 Posted July 12, 2020 What's getting me is sky pitying villa for "bad luck" all season. Mentioning one injury and saying they have had no luck from var. Nonsense
Branston Pickle 3,638 Posted July 12, 2020 They were unlucky with the pen vs Man U but were also somewhat outclassed and would’ve lost anyway - but there’s no doubt they have a point they shouldn’t have from the Sheff U game.
Michael Wynless Jones 161 Posted July 12, 2020 At least they got that penalty call right, but why no yellow for Grealish though?
Surfer 1,547 Posted July 12, 2020 Why are we asking why anymore? Because they have proven to be either incompetent or corrupt, or both.
Branston Pickle 3,638 Posted July 12, 2020 The problem is that people blame VAR rather than the ridiculously incapable referees, who are clearly not up to the job
hogesar 9,618 Posted July 12, 2020 So glad to be away from VAR which, in its implementation in the prem is a travesty
Surfer 1,547 Posted July 13, 2020 (edited) Yeah at least outside the EPL we can have a good old moan about our physical referees and abuse them at the moment of a terrible decision. Done, dusted and the game moves on.... Edited July 13, 2020 by Surfer
Mason 47 1,373 Posted July 13, 2020 The VARces feel like they've onky gotten worse since the restart which makes me feel like they are purposefully nose-diving it to justify a total re write over the summer. All ifs, buts, and maybes, but if we had reached January with the 7 or 8 extra points I think we would have had in a VAR-less season our story would be very different.
