Don’t be hard on players or manager

Recommended Posts

Most of the team out there today, and this season, we signed for a small amount of money for a fight against relegation in the champ. They came from lower divisions home and abroad and most were a gamble. Pukki, lest we forget, was free for a reason.

against all odds the gamble paid off. The team gelled and massively over achieved but then the board chose not to back them on promotion and they have been found out. The bottom line is that they lack the athleticism and size, and often the talent too, for the prem and this has been clear for a long time. Hardly their fault.

The manager was not backed either and it isn’t his fault that you can’t, to use an analogy, compete in F1 when handed a fiat punto!

Some of what you say is right.

But weve conceded 12 goals from set pieces this season, that's something that should've been looked at months ago. Zonal marking costs us every game since project restart.

Players have no confidence or motivation, who's job is that. Manager, players, both?

But you can only comment on what you see and most felt we were in with a chance after lockdown but we were worse.

So the players and management take the blame for that.

What's with rewriting Pukki's achievements? He produced throughout last season. Then for half this season? Now he was free for a reason?

Come on Bootsie! Get back to organising protests.

I wasn’t having a go at pukki. Merely pointing out that we took a punt on a freebie and nobody could have guessed how much he would blossom. The man has been awesome- but the club most assuredly did not pay for a top quality striker

They haven’t been on the wages of players fighting relegation in the championship all this season have they.

*12 goals from corners alone as I understand it

What they get paid doesn’t change their ability or size.

So why fecking waste all that money paying them if they aren’t good enough.

we were beaten before we started this season. Bad management has just compounded  It to make a difficult season in to $odding disaster.

Does anybody think that Farke and the players looked motivated today? We continually give away pointless free kicks around our box that we seem incapable of then defending. How can a player as tall as Klose not bother to jump to defend a cross?

Correct but unfortunately what we have with Farke is a 'coach' who can improve players basic ability to make them 'comfortable on the ball' but hasn't got a clue about setting up a team to defend. He should have dealt with it last season and didn't. He should have dealt with it last summer and didn't. He should have dealt with it during this season and hasn't.  Watch the second goal today. Two centre backs go for the same man! One of those doesn't even jump FFS!. Now watch the LAST goal. Our so called 'world class centre half' stands and watches Antonio as the cross comes into the near post. He (Godfrey) is flat footed and doesn't react at all as the ball is played in. I'm sorry but NONE of this basic stuff is down to 'lack of funding' but is EVERYTHING to do with rubbish coaching. Nothing will change unless Herr Farke is told that 'your time is up'. and we get a manager in who can get a team and defence to  defend!

From what I saw it was a case of players not really up for it; now is that because they know we are relegated and either don't want to get injured or they are told not to so that we go into next season without any injuries or is it because half of them know they won't be here and don't want to injured and risk losing out on a move.

Farke looked like he couldn't give a toss. Didn't even get off his chuff during 1st half drinks break
