Bill 1,788 Posted July 8, 2020 Not only have the binners had to put their staff on furlough (as us). but they have even put some players on it as well Just how bad are things at poorman road ? https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/38405/oneill-some-town-players-on-furlough
TIL 1010 4,745 Posted July 8, 2020 I suspect many clubs in League One and Two have done exactly the same.
Bill 1,788 Posted July 8, 2020 Which, jokes aside, has to be a concern as to how many might go under over the coming months not even me would wish that on the binners
TIL 1010 4,745 Posted July 8, 2020 The amount to claim drops to 70% next month, 60% in September and is due to stop in October so if football does not resume for lower leagues to get some income in Mucus will have to dig deep into his pockets.
Bill 1,788 Posted July 8, 2020 Twtd are claiming that Palace are interested in Downes so that might raise a few bob, ten thousand or so surplus blue seats might also help they could also have another share offer the fans offer money ....... and Evans helps himself to his 'share' 😆
nutty nigel 7,533 Posted July 8, 2020 Not sure how much "help" they'd get from the community. Perhaps they could sell shares at £1 or 5p to local businesses...

Not just the lower league, but the championship (especially). Loads of the clubs are paying over 100% of turnover in wages as it is, if they lose gate money as well, this will increase massively. It will really test the "sugar daddy model" of ownership if gates are significantly reduced.
Tetteys Jig 830 Posted July 8, 2020 I suspect there may be crowds back in limited capacity by the end of the year so they will be able to get their usual half full stadium back soon.
BroadstairsR 2,164 Posted July 9, 2020 (edited) "Twtd are claiming that Palace are interested in Downes so that might raise a few bob, ten thousand or so surplus blue seats might also help." Some of them are saying that they should expect £10m + for such an inexperienced, hot headed clogger who has yet to be properly tested at a decent level. Planet Portman Road living up to it's usual unrealistic imaginings of their club and it's assets. I still say we should carefully consider Kane Vincent-Young though. £2-3m plus add-ons should do it. Also, apparently it's come out that they have a 'black hole' of £10m due to the virus (usual annual loss c.£6m) which Mevans will need to cater for by selling, cutting and reducing Lambert's whisky allowance. All is not lost ....they have a massive 8,000 advanced ticket sales for next season. That should pay for the various rents, Category 2 and Alan Judge's wages at least. sgncfc 1,227 Posted July 9, 2020 I heard that Judge was looking to move on - Portsmouth have been mentioned.
