For those blaming the manager, why not blame the owners?

Recommended Posts

Simply put,

For those blaming farke and saying he has had his time and needs to go; Can those people explain to me why they are diverting their frustrations to the owner and the board with the lack of investment.

Lack of investment has been the case for many a year, and when they keep making the same mistake, and keep coming out and saying we have a plan etc well did no one plan that we went up last year and what to do to ensure we stay there. It was touched on my cootie on Canary call couple weeks ago that alot n change following relegation by way of squad and manager personnel. I mean, how bites of the cherry do we need?

I'm not truly bashing Delia and co, well done to them for all they have done for the club and how they continuously ensure we are not at threat of going bust (although weren't we in the position of having to sell James Madison to keep afloat so not that well run really?) But is it time they seek investment, major investment from somewhere, which may mean relinquished power or, totally be done with it?

There are many Club Apologist dark force  sentinels that continually patrol this forum.....Who as I type, are now making an exact effigy and copy of you.....They just require a lock of your hair, then you will start suffering innumerable amounts of excruciating pain.....

What a unique, thought provoking post. I don't think anyone has posted on this forum criticising the owners yet.

Not sure anyone 'is to blame'

Finances dictate the PL but a self funding model doesn't support spending big.

Manager cannot improve his squad enough without money, it's a vicious circle.

I cannot fathom why the Stowmarket 2 get such an easy time, and Chase was hounded out.

we were very very good under chase and unfortunately sold players. Finances poor.

we have been woeful, good, woeful under the Stowmarket 2. (Including League One and worst top flight record) and celebrate selling players. Finances poor.

It makes no sense. Time for a change or a little criticism?

Do you know of anyone interested in buying them out.

Sure there have been rumours before about people wanting to buy/invest but not heard anything recently.

You can't blame the owners for not having more money, it doesn't grow on trees!

There will only be an approach from a new perspective owner once the club is on its knees. No-one is going to offer a fair price in the current climate.

You have also on a couple of occasions suggested we get the Messiah back.

You've one a bit quiet on that one lately though. 😜

Why does there always need to be someone to blame?

Sorry Chap, didn't realise every post must be unique.

Yep, we are discussing the owners again. Probably will next season and the season after etc.

And we will probably speak about Jordan Rhoades again before the summer ends.

And how good tettey is/was.

And that farke is to blame.

But everyone, hold up, hogesar doesn't want repeats on this forum because then, he HAS to comment on it. Bless him. So everyone, you have been warned. New ideas only please. 😉

There's many more wannabe-moderators than myself, but they tend to only take issue with posts they don't like as opposed to repitition.

Anyway, there's threads already on the first page talking about the owners and you've not added anything different to the debate - was there a problem replying to one of the existing threads? Just wondering.

Just remember when you point the finger at these wannabe moderators, there is one finger pointing to them and three back at you.

Just wondering if there was any problem in me posting a new thread? Did I miss the memo?

Apologies though, I'll try not to be a repeat offender. Xx

I don’t “blame” Delia for not having the money to properly fund the club. She’s a supporter and I’m sure if she came into billions some of that would be spent on NCFC.

I do hold her accountable for failing to recognise that she isn’t able to find the club to the level that modern football requires, and for aggressively discouraging potential investors by being unwilling to sacrifice a controlling stake due to her desire to pass the club on to her Nephew, who also does not have the means to fund the club as required.

I’m not one of those who wants to re-write history and say Delia is “all bad”, and I definitely appreciate the good times we’ve had under her stewardship. I am concerned however that her disgust of money in the modern game and her socialist leanings have been to the detriment of our club’s ability to compete and establish ourselves in the top league in English football, and am concerned that by putting our faith so heavily in the “self-sufficient” approach that we’re binding our hands against better-funded teams in the top 2 divisions that may ultimately see us become uncompetitive.

It'd get boring real fast, for obvious reasons.

It's not novel to blame the owners. The same people have been doing it for 15 seasons. Blimey, we even had a public meeting at St Andrew's Hall on this very subject.

I do wonder how the last ten seasons would have been viewed if those folks had got their way in 2009. A lot of backslapping I shouldn't wonder...

Now what about you Neymar, have you blamed the owners since you started coming on here or is it a recent thing?

People complain that it has been said before but if it is the main obstacle to growth surely that is reasonable?

if my garden was struggling because a giant tree was taking up all the moisture- the real problem wouldn’t go away just because we discounted removing the tree. Indeed until it was removed the same problems would keep coming back

it is now obvious that our current board lack the funds and ambition to establish this club in the premier division. It is also clear they have no intention to sell and only want investment into their ownership. Which, surprise, surprise, can’t be found.

As far as fans are concerned we either

A) accept that we will yo-yo - squandering promotion every time and hoping enough of promotions come along to keep us afloat on the parachute payments

B) protest against the board and hound them out as we once did Chase

neither path guaranteed success. But make no mistake / failure to spend every time we go up is what sinks us. And the buck there does stop with the ownership. Compared to other owners they are poor.

I don’t think anyone doubts their love for the club and desire to succeed.

Best post ever Bootsie. You're a man after my own heart.

Actions always speak louder than words. But you were made of stern stuff when you chased out chase. Do you remember going toe to hoof with the police horses? I wonder if today's keyboard kates are ready for so much uncomfortable activity. Do you have any battle scars or would you be up for doing it again?

If not perhaps someone could start the ball rolling with a nice sedate and anonymous online petition?

Your garden analogy reminds me of a similar gangrenous leg one from a dozen years ago. Even these analogies are sanitised now...

I put the blame on the modern pitch, 30 years ago by mid November the pitches were so terrible it evened out all teams, now we have so pristine pitches it’s unfair that all good players can show off their skills.

1970 / 80’s   pitches were a great leveller!

I’ve watched a number of Big Match Revisited, boy those pitches were awful. I think we forget just how bad they got through the season. I really don’t think these modern players would cope playing on those old ploughed fields.

The internet doesn’t allow for the subtleties of sarcasm but Nutty is this a joke, or are you actually supportive of a poster that admits the current owners cannot take the club forward?

If it’s the latter I need to take a seat 🤣😜🤣😜
