Careful what you wish for...

If, (and a big if considering Webber saying today he won't be sacked, and farke always saying he honours his contract) Daniel Farke was to go at end of this season, be it due to a sacking or off to another club who would you reasonably like as a replacement?

Obviously some of you have been calling for his head, but I would firstly say look at what sticking with the manager can do, in terms of being relegated but sticking with the manager and seeing the long term benefits a la Eddie Howe and Sean dyche.

Personally I'd say Farke would be our biggest loss over Aarons, cantwell, EMI etc.

So yeah, question who would you replace him with realistically? Would you go for a complete change in terms of strategist/ philosopher. Or would be happy to have someone in who has tried and tested methods but are contrast to our current way of playing/ type of play our squad has been built around.

I remember after Farke's first season a few posters wanting Neil Warnock to come in and takeover - so him? 😂

Heart over head (& lazy option) but Ian Culverhouse - not far away & knows his way round Carrow Rd ... who would people pair him with, if he came ?

Personally I’d want DF to stay and have another crack at the Chumps. Will the passion still be there & will it be enough of a new project to maintain the interest - and success. We’ll see, hopefully...

^ I’ve heard of 2-spell managers but never one who’s returned without a break away from the club. Is this a cunning plan to avoid the second tenure curse?

Daniel Farke is who I would like to take over from Daniel Farke.

Well as I said I don't want him to go, come on LDC, show us your cards, just got fun. If he went, who would you have.

Well defo pair him alongside karsa!

And it would be hard to find someone to come in and work with a culverhouse as his number 2, as presumably we would all want to pair him with an experienced head from the championship but would that certain someone want to be number 2 to Culley.

I don't think it's a bad shout for him and karsa to come back though, but a bit of gamble.

Surely it's Webber that should be under the spotlight and not Farke. He is responsible for player recruitment which has been poor the last two transfer windows. I'd like to see him replaced before Farke.

Ok, probably someone we don't know  - maybe Mike Tullberg, young Danish coach/manager of Dortmund II.

I believe very few have suggested a change in manager. Change/upgrade/additions to the playing staff yes, but not necessarily a change in manager.

Hopefully, if we go down, he will still have the drive to get us back up and wit a few additions and not too many losses it may be possible.

His style of play is superbly entertaining and was it not for a few key injuries and had we strengthened a bit more we would be calling for him to be given a Paul lamberk style contract, such as the binners did. Ha ha ha ha ha ha aha aha aa aaha ahaaahhahahaha.

I'd be shocked to see Culverhouse involved after the manner in which he left Villa. Someone with that hanging over their heads wouldn't really fit the culture that we seem to be trying to build.

It's more than likely that Webber would go looking on the continent for someone similar to Farke. A coach who has a reputation for developing younger players and working under a director of football.

Exactly this. Whoever came in (and I would be amazed if Webber didn’t already have a shortlist, just as a precaution) would need to:

1) be happy working as coach with a sporting director,

2) be able to carry on with the general tactical philosophy Farke has employed and,

3) be excellent with young players.

Agreed on all three points. Our next coach will probably come from the German second tier, or possibly somewhere like the Netherlands or Belgium.

If it's someone domestic, it would probably be someone with a reputation as a coach rather than a manager. Someone who would do what Potter or Cooper have done at Swansea, or a domestic version of Farke: a coach who has done well as an Under-23 coach or number two at a big club.

Yeah English managers are going to have to start getting used to this model going forward, it will become more and more common.

Who's that bloke who was at Southend and was a popular choice to replace Worthy?

Steve Tilson? Or am I getting him confused with the boards resident ex-copper?

That is the one- I wanted him too. May well have done a better job than Grant did.

I don’t see Farke being sacked and not should he be. I wouldn’t be upset to see a specialist set piece coach added the coaching staff though

By coincidence my brother's name is Stephen but he does not like football.

We are a Yo Yo club and have been for the last decade, but that is not a bad thing, there are many championship supporters who would love to have had the excitement at both ends of the table as we have in the last 10 years or so. Farkes most important ability is to recognize the potential in a young player and be brave enough to play them. We have had many managers in the past that would not have had to success of developing young talent that Webber has. It also makes good business sense, they are in the shop window and sold as good young players with potential, some will really kick on others less so eh the Murphy boys. Yes it is both frustrating and disappointing  having very brief stays in the PL but that is how it will remain until or if we have a big investor. I cannot see Farke going anywhere, he is not the complete deal, but if he was someone bigger would pinch him, which in due course they may still do. Enjoy him whilst we can and hold on to him as long as we can, he is very decent at Championship level. Give him a couple of seasons and we have a good chance of being promoted again, then the cycle continues

Then I'd have Malky as our next Manager.....Then Malky can employ Nigel Worthington as the Kit-man.....Then Malky can give Nigel Worthington a fortnight in the job.....Then Malky can sack him......Then Malky can employ Simon Charlton as the Kit-man....Then Malky can give Simon Charlton a fortnight in the job.....Then Malky.....

If Farke left for any reason I can see Webber pushing very hard to get Cooper from Swansea. They have worked together before and Cooper was on the shortlist when Farke got the job.

Gutted he became a manager because he was always an amazing coach to hire on Football Manager and he came cheap!

Young, ambitious, fully qualified as a coach and has further qualifications in football management off the field, knows the club inside out, loves the club, very intelligent, incredibly articulate and respected on and off the field by most (if not all) and has a long term goal to manage here, our very own Russell Martin.  In the short time he has had as Manager at MK Dons (18 games) he turned their fortunes around.  When he took over they were struggling, played 17, W4, D1, L12, GD -13, ave points per game 0.76, since then, played 18, W6, D6 L6, GD +2, ave points per game, 1.33.

Obviously still inexperienced to a certain extent, but so was DF

I feel the club is moving forward with so many aspects, I don’t see it as the ‘here and now’ like some rightfully have the right to, I look at all these kids we’ve signed from abroad plus your Josh Martin’s etc and think we have a really bright future. But if Farke and/or Webber was to leave anytime soon I’d be seriously worried. They’ve impacted the club so strongly that replacing them I feel would be extremely difficult indeed. I’m not looking forward to the day they go, and can offer no replacement name for Farke. He might just be my favourite City boss ever.

Never fear, Kristjaan Speakman is still poachable from his position in Birmingham's youth setup! He's been my go-to assistant manager for several years.

He's no David Lowe- I hire him from Blackburn every game.
