I expect Pritti Patel might say very little. Might be wrong, hope I'm wrong.

She has said of protesters that they have shown "absolute thuggery" earlier today. Interesting to see what Boris Johnson says about these idiots 'defending' their heroes with attacks in the police.

Lines are being drawn aren't they across many areas of society...

There was always going to be a group of people in this country who will take offence to the defacing ..or threat of defacing of statues of figures such as Churchill and Nelson....or the burning of flags at the cenotaph. To think otherwise would be naive.

Tomorrow England were due to play Croatia at Wembley in Euro 2020....having been to a few England games including away, and witnessing some of the type of people these occasions draw out....It would have been 'interesting' to say the least in London this weekend if that was still taking place.

What are you waiting for? Go and organise the march.

a far righty expressing concern about the plight of muslims - the same one who posted

''The last leader (and they''ve had a few!) of UKIP on his only appearance on Question Time made the following remark........''there is no doubt that many people in the UK are worried about the rise of ''RADICAL'' Islam''. He was hissed and jeered by several in the audience and the other pan"ellists (notably Chuka Umuna) accused him of being ''Islamophobic''. I would think that his comment was sensible, balanced and represented a very widely held view. What do you think?? "

No words. I no longer recognise the people of this country. To call the FLA yobbos and thickos falls well short of the true horror of their mentality.

They say people grow out of socialism.

I was a virtual commie in my youth and voted Labour for years with all the thought of a pit pony. Michael Foot was my hero,Thatcher the witch.

Like most, I eventually mellowed towards the centre and addressed the issues with more thought than pre-conceived agenda to the extent that in the last four general elections I have realised that I have voted in four different ways.

Besides that the factions that dictated voting intentions in the past have now become blurred generally.

HOWEVER, despite what that football liaison offers states it does seem to me that many of the  BNP supports can be stereotyped as fixed in their views, middleaged fatties with bald heads, tattoos and big bellies full of beer who enjoy hatred and just want a bust up (like the one in the 'photo above.)

Perhaps they are normal civilised human beings who shop at Tescos with their wives and enjoy doing jigsaws when they are away from the herd. Let's hope so.

I will stick with that 99% unless of course you know them ? That pub is frequented on a match day by about 300 plus fans so a handful drape the FLA flag over the balcony and it makes them all ring wing fascists and Nazis in your eyes.

That's a great post Broadstairs.

It's a massive irony that the very ****'s that the FLA align themselves to had a policy aimed at eradicating many minority groups, including those they considered 'mentally defective'.

There are a great many of our FLA brethren who wouldn't make the cut when the SS came calling.

"An extraordinary effort has taken place over recent weeks to wipe out painful reminders of Jimmy Savile. But can you erase all trace of a reviled person?

Plaques have been taken down, buildings renamed, street signs removed, two charities closed.

A footpath in Scarborough was Savile's View. Now the sign has gone. His freedom of the borough will be suspended.A wall commemorating high-profile citizens in Leeds Civic Hall has had the inscription of Savile's name removed.

Officials are under immense pressure to take action.

Having said three weeks ago they would not change the name of Savile's Hall conference centre in Leeds, owner Royal Armouries International announced a change of mind this week at a cost of £50,000."Sir Jimmy's name and reputation are irrevocably tainted  and we have to remove every trace," the managing director said.

A wooden statue in Glasgow has gone, as has a memorial plaque at the DJ and broadcaster's former Scarborough home. It had been defaced with "paedophile" and "rapist". The Royal Marines training centre at Lympstone will have its Savile Room renamed. A photo and nameplate have already gone. A newspaper talked of them having "destroyed all remnants of the TV star".

At Jimmy Savile's grave, there is no gravestone. It was removed by his family and destroyed. Two charities named after him are closing. The BBC has removed from its Desert Island Discs database a 1985 episode in which Savile says he got into running dance halls in order to get girls.

While some of the erasures are said to be temporary, pending the outcome of the investigation into the welter of allegations of sexual abuse against him, it is hard to imagine the honours returning." November 2012

I expect your protests at such action were loud and vociferous, Teemu

Hang on one minute, you must have imagined the bit where I said that Bristol should have a statue of a slave trader on a public street. Could have saved yourself all that effort by asking me for my opinion first.

I think it should be in a museum.

Boris Johnson has been an utter disgrace of late. It is his hiding and complete vacuum of leadership that is leaving this country rudderless and lurching into a dangerous situation where we have race riots on the streets at weekends and a growing lawlessness/lack of respect for authority.

certain opposition MPs have stoked the fires dangerously as well and need to be dealt with but overall it flows from the top and on Coronavirus and the whole George Floyd fallout Johnson has shown himself to be an incompetent coward.

As w**kers but there were equally little mobs of black guys and I assume antifa members going around attacking people yesterday when the odds were in their favour. Both of the extreme factions on both sides are a disgrace. The good, law abiding people of this country need to make it clear that enough is enough and the government need to show some leadership.

Despite plods clumsy attempts to claim that I said 300 odd City fans in the Compleat Angler are FLA - my point (as original post) was that it was the 99% of FLA that gave the 1% a bad name ie they are pretty much all racist thugs

nope, not correct

all the attacks on the right were on those who had left their 'area' looking for trouble ie Trafalgar Square and Waterloo

the police had segregated the two group into different areas - those attacked chose to go onto the other area to cause trouble - only it did not go too well for them

"little mobs ....going around attacking people yesterday when the odds were in their favour."

so why not explain to us all what these right wing thugs were doing in Hyde Park - and next time check your facts first

I’m well aware of the facts. There are videos of the incidents doing the rounds. There were undoubtedly small groups launching attacks. As I’ve said Violent w**kers on both sides. More from the left last week. More from the right this week.

It appears you are not - as you are still trying to portray it as a 'plague on both houses'.

Those fights i Trafalgar Square were between those who were there, and those who chose to go there (presumably) to cause trouble.

Similarly the police had designated two separate train stations for rival groups to us. Those right winger had chosen to go to Waterloo, and ca,e off the worse for it.

Trouble last week was between a few of the usual troublemakers and the police. To conflate two acts of vandalism (spray painting) with what happen yesterday is to distort the truth

And the question it begs is what is your purpose for misrepresenting things ?
