baldy09 191 Posted April 30, 2020 What are fans expectations- city to play behind closed doors or to finish the season with a average point tally, and or the season to finish annulled /void. Would it be better that the season to be annulled in citys stand point in consideration that city may have another go in the Prem. is it this the only option you see city staying up
keelansgrandad 6,680 Posted April 30, 2020 Not bothered what league we are in next season. It would be nice for football to return to just turning up to watch your team play rather than having to worry about all the other rubbish that has managed to cling onto football limpet like. Well b back 3,594 Posted April 30, 2020 Will there be a football season next year ? Certainly as we know it with crowds anyway ?
Jim Smith 2,578 Posted April 30, 2020 I expect reality to bite and the season to be abandoned soon. I think there may be big pressure to let Liverpool have the title. I don't think there should be relegation or promotion in these circumstances but I can see them maybe putting 2 up from the champ and having a 22 team premier league next season. I could also see them trying the scr*w us by relegating us based on current standings but our saving grace there may be how can they deal with the other teams, especially with Villa having played less games. The main issue is how football can return, not whether we stay in this division or not. If the season is declared null and void and that means we get to go again in PL it would give me no particular satisfaction - in fact it would be a sad state of affairs to have to start the season again from scratch. A huge effort went into those 29 games, for every club in the division and that ought to be seen to a conclusion imo, but not squashed into a charade of behind closed doors jiggery pokery. My ideal would be for the season to be picked up again when safe to do so, maybe even as far ahead as next March. Don't ask me how that could work financially and in keeping clubs solvent until then, but if that can be achieved it would be a remarkable return to football - a kind of celebration of being able to rise above the present situation and carry on, relegation and promotion issues sorted, cup games completed and leading logically into the following season. ricardo 8,015 Posted April 30, 2020 My season ticket payment went out today so I expect at some unspecified time we will be returning to Carrow Road. The grass may have grown quite long by that time.

I can only guess that the club at some stage have assumed they may have to give huge refunds, hence why staff have been furghloed.
Capt. Pants 4,965 Posted April 30, 2020 I'm expecting this season to be null and void. New season to begin in September along with the 'kids' also returning to school/colleges. Highly likely the season will begin behind closed doors and spectators only allowed back once it is wholly safe to do so. Worst case scenario everything is in hold until the population has been vaccinated.

I assume it helps the cash flow and since I am not going out and spending anything I am not desperate for a refund.
Capt. Pants 4,965 Posted April 30, 2020 If we have 20,000 season ticket holders and if the average refund for this season is £150, that's £3m About £10m for an entire season. And if the club goes bust in the meantime unless you've paid in full by credit card, it's unlikely we'll get anything back?
pete 368 Posted April 30, 2020 Relegation a certainty if City cannot play at Carrow Rd, and just as likely even if can play at home.Null and void please for future at Norwich.

Null and void is completely off the table, no league has used it so far and none likely will. Our best hope will be similar to that of the Dutch where the final table stood with no promotion or relegation. Each league will make its own decisions based on its on circumstances. Holland couldn’t announce champions as they were only separated on Goal difference. France announced champions and promotion/relegation. If cancelled I’d expect Liverpool champions, no relegation with the possibility of two up if next seasons calendar can take it.
......and Smith must score. 1,581 Posted April 30, 2020 Strange one this. On all known form we deserve to go down and it will feel slightly hollow if we stay up other than by our own efforts. Still if the season is abandoned it would be a treat to see those little Suffolk faces and if it gets given to them deny the Scousers their first open-top bus Premier League title parade through Liverpool. Whichever League we’re in next year it’s bound to be several months before spectators are allowed back into Carrow Rd again so the club will be looking at a hefty refund of ticket money. You won’t be seeing many aged 50+ venturing back in until it’s safe to do so.

I think that one is off the table for most, if not all, nations- if it was ever on the table in the first place.
