Shirt size advice

Recommended Posts

I'm about to order a shirt for a birthday present and as it's for a 60th they'll be some bespoke lettering on the back.

As it's policy not to accept returns after lettering has been added I want to make sure it will be the correct size. In previous posts there has been some debate over the sizing and the table below was quoted.

I think for a 46inch chest the size would be 2XL, am I correct?

Erreà Men's Replica Shirts

Size Chest (cm) Length (cm)
S 104 71
M 108 74
L 112 76
XL 114 77.5
2XL 120 79
3XL 124 80.5
4XL 128 82.5
5XL 132 83
6XL 134 83
7XL 140 83
8XL 142 83

Go for 2 sizes up from your normal size is my advice.

Replica shirts are always cut on the skimpy side.

So that chart should be ignored?

Yes and virtually anybody who has bought a shirt will tell you.

A bit big and he can grow into it

too tight and it can't/won't be worn

ps perhaps you might wish to buy one of those mini kits that hang in a car - wrap it up in large box and tell him you hope you got the right size

And a subscription to Slimmers World. I bought the graphite one as a 2XL and it just fits but I can't move my arms. Which is handy when its my round.

Did you measure the person pre lockdown?

Good point, will probably require another 'X' and maybe the full name including middle name on the back. 😀

This is the very reason I didn't take advantage of the money off recently- in recent years I've been anything between an XL to 3XL so I don't risk it unless I can try it on.

The last thing I ended up with was a 'player fit' XL which fits like it sounds, and I'm usually 44-46 chest
