I'm not renewing my season ticket.

When my kids were about 3, we used to crack up at them when they threw a strop ,, they didnt like it but the strop was soon over.  When they were teenagers the same tactics usually  worked just as well. Methinks no one laughed at TvB when he was a kid, hence he takes himself so seriously nowadays

I just wish he'd  come up with that Webber Quote  before he left us .

Really ? Just laughed at them until they stopped  at the age of 3. Fair play they’ve turned out balanced but that’s just odd behaviour.

For me the issue is how can you morally justify furloughing non essential staff whilst continuing to pay hugely over inflated salaries to other members of the organisation! You could argue that the players are not fulfilling their job descriptions either as they are not playing, should the club furlong the playing staff?

A small reduction in the high end salaries should cover the salaries  of the low end employees who probably earn less in a year, than most of the current first team earn in a week or two!

This applies to any large business, whether a football club, investment bank or any other blue chip organisation! Internal cuts to high salaries should be sought before furloughing staff!

The furlough scheme is for small firms that would go out of business if they have to continue to pay salaries to secure jobs and have no way to cover the shortfall! By reducing high salaries most large organisations can cover the costs!

May as well just put myself out of my misery and draw a line under this.

For the first time since getting one 26 years ago I'm not renewing.

I guess rather than expressing my outrage on here but clearly being so clearly out of tune with the majority, I should probably just do the decent thing and express it that way.

Away membership mugging, taking furlough money but no player wage deferrals or executive pay cuts, announcing a signing during furlough.

May sit right with a lot of you, clearly, but it doesn't sit right with me.

For the first time ever I actually feel truly ashamed of the way the club has gone about things. It changes everything I thought I knew about this club, its manager and its playing squad.

I'm dejected, and don't worry.... I'll be gone for a long time, no doubt to the relief of quite a few of you (people who can bring themselves to rationalise and defend the indefensible, I'm glad I'm not you).

Fair play to Bournemouth fans for applying pressure on their club, not going to happen at ours.

I bet you do renew

I don’t think you will be alone Tvb. As a long standing supporter myself I totally agree with yours, and those with like opinions, sentiments.

Webber and Kensell certainly have a lot to answer for along with the owners and their board. But rather than throw in my ticket, I’ll keep it, and take them on head to head in complaining. No argument can be won by running away from it! What they have done is wrong and one cannot doubt it will show in attendance figures when this, if it ever is, is over! I don’t doubt liverpool, Bournemouth and Tottenham certainly changed their minds for a reason other than it was wholly wrong!

Lets hope that all those who advocate what the club has done live to see the end results, which might be what wasn’t expected!

If people think it’s wrong and won’t renew their season tickets that’s fine, but does that mean they won’t go into Wetherspoons, Sports Direct or never buy anything from Amazon again?

The wind up merchant on the forum earns more than a football club....

Yellow Belly is sounding more and more like the obnoxious idiot on Vital Norwich, best ignored, he talks absolute rubbish about a team he supposedly supports!

There is a fair to middling chance that there maybe no crowds at football matches til next year (2021) according to a few reports i have read.

I still do on a purely moral basis vs what I thought personally the furloughing scheme was for. We are a small business and have so far still managed to avoid furloughing. The government havent further clarified so I'm not sure. However I raised the point at the time, the majority of those who are morally outraged at this situation seem to coincide with those who have been shouting for new ownership with complete disregard for any factors other than how big their wallet is. Which is why the moral argument falls flat for the majority who have been most vocal about it.

A very decent reply and good luck to you with your business in these troubling times.

This is the likely scenario and as a result the Directors will have to pump in significant capital into the business as I doubt there will be much in the way of transfer activity , especially with all the uncertainty

the self funding model will fall apart as the next season progresses

I like how you keep telling me what I'm thinking or doing, it saves a lot of time. Thank you for your assistance.

That's for agreeing with me.. I knew you'd get there eventually.

PS. Try not telling me what I mean and maybe I won't tell you what you're thinking. See what I did there!

You know guys this thread is a good read but all i want to do is watch a game of football and enjoy all the emotions it gives us.

As for the rights and wrongs or the clubs politics i really don't care, it is the football on the pitch that matters.

Some people here say they quit the club for their policies. Really? Surely we are all here because of the football? Whatever the owners do or don't do is irrelevant once our team walks out on the pitch to 26000 fans singing their praise. For me this is what it's about, not politics.

There is too much negativity in the world right now, so stay positive guys and when we can watch live football again all these valid opinions and discussions  can be forgotten.

One thing is certain. We won’t be strengthening the team next year as there won’t be any money.

So step up Idah and a couple of others from the U23’s if we are forced into offloading one or two of the first team squad just to balance the books.

Could have been a lot worse Surfo, although our budget is small, we are in half decent financial shape. Tough times ahead for nearly everyone. If we'd followed the preachings of  ' He who started this thread....and flounced off, cos the nasty boys disagreed with him' ........then we'd be in a whole mess of money troubles.

Whatever the outcome , I for one am glad we've run a tight ship. Some Clubs may end up going under or having to write off massive amounts.....future is so uncertain that our prudence may yet be our saviour.

The problem we have here is that everybody wants a football club to go back to when this is all over but they don't want it to make the necessary business decisions in order to ensure that happens. The sad reality is that when things break there are bound to be casualties.

You are correct Ricardo(o), there will be fresh omellettes to be made, which will necessitate the  breaking of eggs. I'd still rather  be us than an awful lot of Clubs.Little of what lies ahead can be accurately predicted  just yet.

Replaced by a job lot of jellied eels that fell off the back on a lorry in the vicinity of BIllingsgate fish market. Enjoy!

in my post I did ask if we could refrain from hiding behind that because that only applies if we tried to enforce the players.

KG, I value what you say as a poster, and often agree with you, but with respect, I am not hiding behind anything. We know that in the real world the players have refused the Premier League's request that they take a pay cut. In this circumstance it would be disastrous for the club's finances to try to enforce one.

In the future, it is possible that some sort of agreement may be reached. I understand that discussions are ongoing, although it is more likely to be deferrals rather than cuts. In this scenario that player's agree to a cut I would accept it. In this circumstance, it would benefit the club's finances. However, a pay cut would have a negative effect to the economy, which we should recognise, but in the grand scheme of things it would only be a marginal one.

Could I ask you to respond in a similar manner KG - i.e. in both the current and possible future scenario?

It isn't - you misunderstand the scheme. From the govt website (link provided):

"all employers are eligible to claim under the scheme and the government recognises different businesses will face different impacts from coronavirus."

Sorry Badger, I didn't mean to come across as beligerent and no your views are genuine and founded on your thought out strategy for the future. What I meant was I understand what you are saying and you understand my point of view also. But I do not accept the "legal and contract" issues are an obstacle.
Apologies once again.

Apologies! I’ll rephrase, the scheme should be for small business or those endanger of financial collapse.

The point of my post is the morally correct thing for any business, regardless of it’s nature, should be to reduce top end earners exorbitant salaries to help keep the lower earners in jobs, before dipping into the public purse!

In reality my suggestion is far too left wing for a world lacking morality and where greed rules! Those kind of sentiments probably died out with utopian socialists 😜 (not the Suffolk socialists) 🤣
