Indy 3,471 Posted April 10, 2020 (edited) Had a good online discussion with work colleagues who are all off at present and my Norwegian colleague said “I wonder how many thousands os lives have been saved by the massive travel restrictions and would that be more than we lost to the virus in the same period!” what a fantastic view point, as sad as the Coronavirus deaths are, but I do wonder how many young and older people globally have been saved by such a massive change in transportation . Thirsty Lizard 3,214 Posted April 11, 2020 There's no doubt that the dramatic curtailment of our activity has many positive side effects Indy. Apparently admissions to hospital A & E departments are at their lowest level since records of these things started being kept. I'm certain that deaths and serious injuries from road accidents are massively down and I'm actually seeing police patrolling down my city centre street these days - after all they're not spending huge amounts of their time and resources dealing with drunken violence down Prince of Wales Road every night at the moment. (P.S. - I'm not for one moment claiming that any of the above make the corona virus pandemic in any way a good thing).
