It's rather the essence of democracy to do just that. I praised the vaccine roll-out at the time (If you are really that bored you can indeed trawl back to confirm that), but like the report produced by parliament itself I believe there is very much to criticise in this government's mishandling of the crisis. Well b back 3,140 Posted October 24, 2021 Good news guys over the last two days we have vaccinated hundreds of unbooked boosters many who did not receive a text, letter and their GPS did not even point them in the right direction. As I mentioned earlier ( please don’t think that’s a told you so ) we should we boosting at 5 months, not 6 and as I mentioned a week ago I believe we will now be moving to 5 months. If you have not received a letter or text, but you are eligible ( even if the system does not let you book, get to a walk-in if necessary, you are not as been mentioned jumping any queues you are getting what you are entitled to. Over 50’s and vulnerable, 6 months you can get it, please don’t sit around waiting weeks for what you are entitled to and like I say I suspect it will be 5 months in the next few days. With hubs shut by the government I realise it is harder to book, but try not to put it off if possible

Yellow Fever 3,691 Posted October 24, 2021 I will ignore the predictions above but the schools out should at least momentarily take the foot off the gas a bit but no doubt the number of tests will also drop too. However, one thing I heard this morning which did ring true was that the government won't jump to plan B+ until after COP26. Reminded me of India being 'delayed' on the red list last year and the consequences. Deja vu.

Yes - But weekends always dodgy anyway. Even todays 'headline totals need circumspection as admitted incorrect - "Because of technical issues at Public Health Wales yesterday, the cases and deaths reported today cover a 72-hour period. However, due to further technical issues, not all cases in the 72-hour period have been flagged as new. The true number of new cases since the previous update is likely to be just over 8,000. The cumulative total is unaffected by this reporting issue. Edited October 26, 2021 by Yellow Fever

Lots of threads on Twitter indicating we are at peak and the trend may be to fall next week. Very sad reading those death numbers. We have perhaps become (necessarily) de-sensitised to such figures. They will include the weekend I know. I posted last night a thread I came across projected into 2022. Sees a big (steep) drop in November and December.
Well b back 3,140 Posted October 26, 2021 Who knows the relevance, but just over a couple of weeks ago we are encouraged to wear masks again to avoid more restrictions. Not sure about everywhere but up here certainly noticeable more masks are being worn again. Also as 1/2 term kids are no longer testing regular so random unsymptomatic cases not being picked up. Who knows, COVID is a law to itself. Boosters are more important than anything, once again, please, please get yours if it is your time and tell others get it done. Unfortunately the booster programme will take a hit this week as the teenagers take priority to get that back on track after that debacle.
