And who’s not hacking who....to think it’s just the Chinese is as British as you can get!

I didn't want to say but was it in the news just recently we have 'sold' a lot of NHS data to a company linked to the USA secret services !

We need to stick to facts - China is ont as open as we would wish yet unarguably they have controlled the virus and have been largely fully back to normal from last year!

Do you believe Britain is hacking servers of scientists developing vaccines and infrastructure on a huge scale? Do you actually believe that? Think about it.

I don’t have to provide anything to Chinese bot. I just hope MI6 have you on a register mate. I guess concentration camps don’t mean anything to you as long as you are making cash? Absolute state of you.

Our death toll is a disgrace. There is no other way to say it.

But some would ignore that as China is lying.

Yes, they probably are.  But does that excuse us?

People have to get used to Chinese foreign policy over US from now on. The BBC Trump documentaries illustrated their "we want to be number one in the world" and they are terrified they are close to losing topspot.

Indeed, we should be more accurate and exclude deaths clearly not caused by covid, even adopt the german method pehaps to hide a fair number.  The chinese method could get us down to less than 1,000.... 🤗

Anyway let's count them after the EU vaccine debacle as they hit another wave and a much clearer picture may emerge where we will in fact compare a lot more favourably in my view.

Two questions:

1, what’s happened to seasonal flu, no mentions nowadays?

2, in a “ normal “ winter, how many people die of flu ?

Shut up about the EU. We are talking about the UK. Comparisons are meaningless. Or else lets compare ourselves to NZ.

Only one area in Cornwall and Devon that is high and that is Torbay.

Cornwall is 28 per 100K.

I think the rapid testing starts tomorrow for workplaces so we may see a slight rise for a week or two.

You'd be shouting off if the EU had achieved what we had, so shut up yourself. We are entitled to be proud of our vaccine achievements and comparisons with the EU are relevant, especially as many of us have argued how they interfere to our detriment for years, and now they continue to interfere even after we have left, not least by denigrating our vaccines and causing a reluctance for the gullible to trust our strategy.

The EU has hit over 500, 000 deaths, Italy will pass 100K soon, and we have taken a lot of unjust criticism from biased left whingers such as yourself.

I don't listen to him as he only appears to be for his own self-promotion, has been anti-lockdown from day one and has zero commonsense imo.

You are so thick. Your own quotes sentence you.

The EU has 7 times our population and 4 times our deaths. Surely even a hater like you can do the maths?

When are you going to address the fishermen Moy? When are you going to tell them you lied to them. We told them the truth.

What you have identified correctly KG is that they can't do the maths even if such a comparison was justified (they are after all 27 separate countries all with their own sovereign different Covid responses).

Totally blinkered by hate.

I often think of this cartoon when I read some of those posts. It feels apt to make the quick mental jump to what kind of thing that might happen on a diet of reading the Daily Express.

Hate is a very strong word...dislike is a better term maybe. Also, as you and KG are throwing stats back, i completely disagree with KG as regarding UK's 120k Covid deaths as a disgrace. Of course there is a difference  between stats of 27 nations and one kingdom, but if stats are being thrown around ok..the 120k deaths in UK is  actually to be expected, and on a par or better than some EU states when  adding in the often neglected but hugely important fact that England is in a league of its own with being the 2nd highest densely populated major nation and the 4th highest population. The very nature of how Covid spreads was always going to mean that here at home we would suffer the highest amounts of deaths in Europe. 120k deaths is very sad and Covid is the disgraceful menace, not any single human being or groups of human beings.

I disagree its to be expected. We know that there is plenty of evidence concerning care homes and hospitals where there was negligence. Nothing would have stopped deaths but more care attention would have dramatically reduced the amount.

And we had the benefit of being an island with natural borders. Not closing  the unnatural ones was the first mistake.

Good news from JVT this afternoon about real time effectiveness of both vaccines after one dose in all age groups who had received vaccination but particilarly amongst the elderly who are the largest group to be vaccinated so far. Hospitalisations in over 80 year olds dropped by 80%

A gentle nudge to our European friends with data which will hopefully help to reassure them.

Nice try but back in the real world the UK death total is appalling and a national disgrace, even you look at our count relative to size of population we are still one of the very worst performers in Europe (and the rest of the world). Some of the other big countries have also suffered badly - Spain, Italy and France obviously - but all have done better than us, and Germany have less than half the deaths relative to population size, Denmark less than a quarter and so on..

And if you think that population density is a significant factor then you need to take a look at the Netherlands - 70% more densely populated than the UK yet with a death rate per 1m people of well under half the UK's.

120k deaths in the UK most definitely was not to be expected, should never have happened and would never have happened if we'd had a remotely competent government which responded to the outset of the pandemic in a timely and effective manner - our Government unfortunately did neither and no amount of vaccinating is going to undo the many thousands of unnecessary deaths along with the huge economic damage that their indecisive, tardy and shambolic response inflicted on the country last year.
