No this is far worse, he could have infected hundreds of people.

His only excuse for it that is if he wore a mask and gloves. Doubt he would have been wearing gloves though.

No excuses. Should not have done it. Don't think it is going to be leapt on by Boris at the moment though.

He could have worn a mask but the cynic in me says he would not have been recognised if he had.

He is a bit stupid for doing this. Plenty of other ways of showing solidarity.

Barry Gardiner being criticised by his own front bench you mean ?

In his response Gardner refers to ‘taking the knee’ with brave young people. Is public protesting now an act of bravery?

Funny how the Cummings bashers on here are not venting their disgust at Gardner ignoring social distancing rules.

"He is a bit stupid."

That's all you needed to say.

Yup. One rule for all means just that... one rule for everyone. No excuses.

Meanwhile, the UK now has more deaths per day that the rest of the EU combined.

Let that sink in for a bit.

If I'm being more fair to him, he did announce what he was going to do first.

If he's met Johnson then he's probably met Cummings as well. I hope Dominic has a full tank of petrol, he may need to utilise that 'cottage' (subject to planning permission) on his in-laws estate again.

I hope he plans on checking his eyesight before he goes (although as it's not his wife's birthday, he may forgo that ritual).

Should be OK on the way back though, Barnard Castle have altered their signage to help people work out if they're able to drive.

Pity you don't read the posts clearly. I think everyone is saying he is a terwat. But he didn't march to Durham to test his eyesight or inspect his Dad's cottage or barn or garage or compost bin or whatever they are calling the building they didn't have permission for.

...and unlike Cummings he didn't write the pigging rules. He's just an elected backbencher.

I would think the wearing of masks on public transport from 15th coincides with more workers and shoppers due to the retail section of the economy opening up on that date.

I expect however City1st will be exempt.

Does the virus only become contagious on the 15th then? if this is going to be mandatory why not tomorrow, or Monday?

The key difference is he admitted he made a mistake and apologised

Cummings thinks he is above all this, he helped shape the rules but thinks he did nothing wrong

One rule for him, one for the rest

Will we be fined if we wear a face mask on public transport before the 15th?

What about planes? They are public transport. Do you have to wear a mask during a long haul flight? And when you have to quarantine for 14 days when you arrive, will you have to wear it when you go through customs?

It is baffling

why does admitting anything make any difference to a deliberate breach putting people at risk

Looking  forward what would you all change about current measures or the proposed changes?

As with every measure being made or taken they should have been done months ago.

The ability to go back in time. The Government keep saying they are guided by science.

Are we really expected to believe that the 15th is going to make any difference from the 12th or else the science will be incorrect?

They have stubbornly stuck to their own agenda and most other scientists say they were incorrect.
