We drew at home with  Aldershot in the 84-85 league cup. Aldershot has a population of around 36000 these days, according to wikipedia....so might have been less than carrow road capacity back then

Best I can do atm

To  avoid such a record the club had a cunning plan. Reduce the ground capacity.

Well actually, set fire to the Main Stand a fortnight before

A dark night in the club's history - though not that dark as the fire did light up the night.

Curiously the spokesman for the fire service was a chap called Chris Tilson....... it couldn't be, could it ?

Thought his comments about Ipswich were brilliant, actually.

Proper mind games.

Barton was a bit of a thuggish player, yes, but has always had some intelligence up there in the ol' brain tank. He wound Ipswich fans up good and proper. I say well done that man! (His breath stinks, though, apparently) 😂
