Is it telling that every pundit and neutral praises Buendia but the manager keeps him out of the team?

Who knows, CW. I want Emi back in the side as much as anyone but I’m not a UEFA qualified manager and am not privy to what, or is not, happening on the training ground. Farke’s not stupid, he knows Emi’s true value to our team, though it sounds like he’s taken exception to Emi flailing around with his hands in the air, which temporarily takes us down effectively to 10 men at times.

I think it was right not to bring Emi in vs Liverpool, our tactics were almost Bob-on and we came as close as anyone expected; Wolves less so, and I’d be surprised if he didn’t start tomorrow.

They also said previous managers had had some problems with his attitude. A touch immature seemed to be the verdict.

Apparently, after losing the ball near the end of the Wolves match, he sat on the turf & made no effort to get up & help out. I wonder if he finds English football too permissive when it comes to fouling players like himself & has problems coping with it. I have to say I often sympathise.

Quite frankly if Emi isn’t in the starting 11 tomorrow night then we may as well come out waving white flags.

The day a manager bows to a players demands etc and makes himself look weak in front of his squad of players and staff, is the day that a very dangerous precedent is set.

Emi, as much as we’d love him to stay, will likely have chosen to move on this summer. Our manager and many of the rest of the players will likely be here preparing for next season in whichever league we end up in.

Just a thought.

I have it on good authority that one of our squad (and I will not name him) has been asked to hang on in there as he will be needed next season in the Championship.  So, on that basis it appears the 'management' have already given up the fight, especially as this is as good as admitting we are down, which may true, but if the players take to the pitch knowing the 'management' are planning for PL failure, how on earth can they be expected to then believe an escape is possible. Beggars belief imo.

That’s the weird thing I can’t understand, JF.

Many posters have told Lakey repeatedly that ‘we’re relegated, there’s no chance’. He gets mocked for saying there’s still a chance, ‘delusional’ I think is the word.

Yet, I find that very hard to sincerely believe when we’re all saying how vital it is that Emi starts playing to give ourselves a chance of winning these crucial matches. I’m not sure at this stage I would buy this if someone says that the reason for this is because they just want to ‘see us have a positive end to the season’.

It suggests to me that actually most posters feel the same as Lakey but for whatever reason won’t admit it?

Love to see him start, it’s his on field tantrums that are really childish. Were he playing for the opposition he would get lots of stick

People are basing those opinions on the evidence of what we’ve seen so far but although likely, relegation is still not set in stone and whilst it’s possible we should be playing every match with the aim of getting 3 points, draws are no good now. Starting Emi has historically proven that he gives us more chance of winning a match, than if he’s not playing.

I would put money on it that the players know full well that we are still (sensibly) planning for both possible scenarios, so I’d be beyond amazed if Farke was behind closed doors saying to all the lads ‘we’re done, that’s it’, something about that doesn’t ring true for me, in fact with the greatest of respect to you, Ray, I just can’t believe that’s the case for a minute.

Planning for failure my ar$e. Two scenarios are applicable - as well to be ready for either and just because we are aware about the likelihood of relegation does not mean every effort is not being made to stay up.  Its simple common sense - go for your dreams but be ready in case they don't come about.

AM, nowhere did I say Farke has said to the players behind close doors we are done, however Management (whoever that is?) telling a fringe player, to hang on in there because he will be needed in the Championship next year, does send a message and affect mindset.

LDC, your ar*e is the last image I need at any time, let alone around tea time, that said, I am in agreement that it is believed every effort is being made to stay up, it’s just that in my opinion, telling a player he will be needed next year in the Championship doesn’t necessarily help the cause, see mindset comment above.

BTW, please leave the messenger standing, or use blanks if you are going to take a shot.

'Top 26' with self-funding Socialist Soccer? Erm yeah, it's maybe possible and achievable?.....Now if they had ridiculously said 'Top 17' with self-funding Socialist Soccer.....? Nah......Nein......

I feel they should have also thrown in "It's a 10 year plan" whilst they were at it......
