Sing up the river end

Deano nearly always carrying an injury??

Recommended Posts

Is it the fact he is always carrying a hamstring/thigh injury that

probly needs surgery or is it that hes having a bad patch of form??.He

just hasnt looked right for ages to me even before all this transfer

b*llox.Half the time when hes passed fit before games to me  he

doesnt stretch for balls and is just trying to get through. When he was

at Crewe was the trainer on 3 times a game??.If hes not fully fit dont

play him but in fairness to worthy when he broke his nose it was his

call to play and im wondering if its been his call all the time,if so

hes not doing himself any favours in playing.I dont know the exact

stats but apart from Southampton i think he has only scored one goal in

about the last 18 games.Yes poor service has a lot to do with this but

he has missed a lot of chances something he wasnt doing when he first

came here.So its either low confidence and poor service, the fact he

doesnt want to play here or more likely hes nearly always injured if

thats the case would we be better off cashing in on him??.Although i

must say i wouldnt feel confident in Worthy spending £4 mil or so well.

I''m pretty certain Deano had a virtual injury free time whilst at Crewe. I do think he''s carrying a niggling injury at the present, and as I quoted in an earlier thread, I suspect he wouldn''t pass a strict medical from a prospective buyer. I hope he rediscovers the form he had towards the latter half of our dabble in the Premiership, he is quality, and if he goes - he will be sorely missed....... ;~(

I can''t confirm anything, so apologies if anybody feels this is pointless, but...

At the very start of the season, I posted a ''friend-of-a-friend'' item about Deano having an injury problem which - whilst painful - allowed him to play, albeit not at 100%. The details elude my drink-addled brain today, but the upshot was it was picked up just prior to the season starting and the decision was taken to defer the necessary operation until the end of the season.

I''m sure most of you remember Greeno having a problem he played with for a large chunk of time under similar circumstances. It was felt that a mostly-fit Ashton was preferable to missing him for a long spell following surgery (with hindsight you would probably say he''d have been better off going under the knife straight away!).

As I say, I have no proof - the story came from someone in the medical profession.

Steve,

Quite agree mate I dont feel he has played well at all. An 8 million striker should get vital goals all the time. He has missed crucial chances and his scoring rate proves this. He is getting poor service, I feel he is injured and you certainly would''nt put your mortgage on him scoring chances. He has cost us points this season i.e the penalty he should''nt of took. Besides all that I sit next to you and your an eejut.
