Thailand canaries

Am currently in Thailand, and as of the Newcastle game, I'll be in Chiang Mai. Its a 10pm ko Thai time and wondered if anyone from here knows of a pub it'll be on, or even better if you'll be there perhaps?

I don’t, but cannot recommend strongly enough that you go to Elephant Nature Park instead of the abusive trekking camps if elephants are on your Chiang Mai agenda.

ENP is an accredited sanctuary, anywhere you can ride an elephant is hugely abusive to the animals.

As a side note, there is a Norwich City themed bar somewhere - possibly Koh Pha Ngan or somewhere. I didn’t find it on my travels there but a mate did when he went

Thanks for the reply. Don't worry - we are doing the elephant thing but I've been extremely thorough in picking the rescue centre we are going to. Don't want to visit somewhere where underneath the facade is abuse, so had to do my research and be careful in our choice.

I’ve googled and Norwich bar appears to be in Ao Nang (Krabi) if you’re heading that way at any point.

Red Lion in Chiang Mai is a sports bar. They’re advertising other fixtures but might be worth speaking to them when u get to Chiang Mai and seeing how amenable they are to putting Norwich on - they had the burnley game on last week by the looks of it

You are a wealth of knowledge. Let's see what they say when I get a chance to pop by. No doubt there will be geordies floating about though as they get everywhere.

Seriously? Without wanting to go all little old Norwich, that can’t generate a lot of custom surely?

I watched the home game Vs the scum last season in a bar run by a Norwich fan in Bangkok. About a dozen ex-pats and Thai canaries- a good night indeed! Can't remember the name but Thai canaries have a Facebook page so you could ask on there if interested.

Don't think it's designed to generate custom tbf. Probably just owners that are fans.

^ TBF they have more City stuff than the capital canaries’ pub in London. (Bet there’s no Wherry in the Thai one though)

 thing is though,  I’ve also heard they do let fans of other clubs - and even people with no club at all! - through the door & spend money (have never been ID’d at the bar for my club membership) so i assume it all works out ok, business-wise
