Yellowhammer 95 Posted January 27, 2020 What a load of old rubbish these players are paid a small fortune and supposed to be some of the fittest men in the country , the game has not changed that much from years ago when players would Sometimes play two matches a week on a muddy pitch. Pampered or what!
Making Plans 957 Posted January 27, 2020 When Forest won the European Cup in 78/79 (also winning the League Cup & finishing 2nd in Div 1) they played 61 games with a squad of 23, 2 of which never got a game.
keelansgrandad 6,680 Posted January 27, 2020 How can you predict a winter break? It could snow the week after the break and everything is called off and not just because of pitches but travel and safety. And don't get me started on the pampering.😡
Mr Angry 2,017 Posted January 27, 2020 The other big leagues in Europe have a winter break-can't see why the Premier League shouldn't have one too.

This sums it up really. Winter in 78/79 was quite severe which suggests Forest would have a fixture pile up yet they still managed to win the European Cup, League Cup and come second in the league. These days a really cold winter is unusual, this winter has been mild so far, I reckon we will have a break in Feb and the snow will come in March, that is British weather for you
Yellowhammer 95 Posted January 27, 2020 Can anyone remember the famous baseball ground at derby county it resembled a ploughed field at times ! And squads these days have millions of pounds sitting on the bench unlike the one sub and a few fringe players
