My local club is an amateur  small town club, they have just had a training pitch laid that that was  better than tranmeres  pitch before we got it fixed, absolute disgrace for a pro club....do they play rugby on it as well or grow strawberries in close season.

Aye, the Baseball Ground of the 70's -- total mud bath...

The centre circle looked like Hermione's undercrackers when the GE exit poll results came in... 🙃

Derby County used to cover their pitch with sand, presumably to soak the mud up, I seem to remember somebody from the coaching staff doing "sand dance" moves on the touchline and of course there was the incident whereby the penalty spot had to be repainted before Derby County could take a penalty........

Many pitches were like that as late as the 80's. Even though one of the better pitches, Carrow Rd could be pretty bad.

Look up some old video from then.... 

P.S. we couldn't defend back then either 😂
