Liverpool vs Man U

Recommended Posts

If Man U were in the Yellow and Green I’d give em a chance - they appear to be in B&Q Beige....

Liverpool for me - for no other reason than having to listen to Neville droning on and on and on....

🤣

Their CB scores goals from Set Plays.... we need one of those

I agree. We definitely need the best centre back in the world.

And Carragher with his squaremun voice and bright red face.

Something to be said for having experts but please have ones who aren't biased to each team.

  1. de Gea is fouled
  2. Liverpool score
  3. de Gea is booked for protesting
  4. VAR disallows goal

Why does de Gea's booking stand?

Why does de Gea's booking stand?

Because he poked the ref, rightly booked as the ref was saying it’s being reviewed.

And now a VAR where the Goalie has been assaulted and the goal disallowed

🤣

He barely touched him. VAR gets more ridiculous every week

Dont be childish.

It was for dissent. Regardless of the result of the VAR check. He argued and went very over the top in the referee's face, you simply cannot do that.

So yes, the yellow rightly stands

I think it's ridiculous. If you're going to bring the game back and annul the results of play since the foul then bookings should be part of it.

  1. Attacker X runs on to through ball
  2. Defender Y is last man back and hacks him down
  3. Defender Y is sent off
  4. VAR check, Attacker X was offside
  5. Red card withdrawn, free kick to defending team awarded

Isn't that how it currently operates?

Not really. You can be booked for dissent and getting all ul in the refs face regardless of whether the ball is in play. You can also be sent off for a period after the game.

Otherwise, you could just kick off whenever you wanted, provided the ball wasnt in play...

He showed a lack of respect for an official. That's always a booking.

Dissent is still dissent.

Agreed, so why is David deGea booked if he was protesting an obvious mistake that can be (and was) viewed by VAR and overturned???

Again. Dissent is still dissent.

Just because the decision that led to dissent is overturned  that isn't an excuse for him acting like a petulant child...

If the ref had done his job in the first place, de Gea wouldn't have "acted like a petulant child" (or, perhaps more accurately, a sportsman who's just faced a major injustice while playing in one of the biggest club games in the world).

Well if it hadn’t been VAR it would have been 2-0 and he’d still been booked!

And that'd be absolutely fine - at least some consistency in process.

He has to know that VAR is looking at everything. Why attack the referee? If hes innocent, it will become clear soon.

Either way, their is just no excuse for acting like that, at all. Hes an adult, the occasion is entirely irrelevant. He is an adult.

That's why this offence is a booking.

Also, 'shouting the loudest' is not going to get you anything.

He was rightly booked, and the booking right stood.

But it was a foul?

Imagine if they’d rolled back the Pen yesterday and decided Teemu was offside when the shot was taken?

Yes a handball but 3 phases ago your CF was offside

VAR is a clinical insight to Footie being played as a PlayStation 4 event

If Man Utd somehow manage to equalise in the second half LiVARpool might have to rely on KLOPPage time.

I honestly fail to see the relevance of that statement to this game?

2 VAR instances. 1 supposed foul (I dont agree with it by the way) and 1 offside.

What's the relevance of phases of play here?
