daly 551 Posted January 16, 2020 When you are in the position of being in the bottom most teams will do all they can to insure they stay up. With the season ticket freeze the BOD have given up and are realistic that we are down and will not spend

Faded Jaded Semi Plastic SOB 1,222 Posted January 16, 2020 Assuming this is Bowen, the talk is that Leeds have offered a £3M fee to loan him for the rest of the season and agreed a transfer fee should they be promoted......

Faded Jaded Semi Plastic SOB 1,222 Posted January 17, 2020 Cheers Wacky, talking about a fee of £8.5M, if the deal is not completed in time villa will be playing Brighton without a recognised striker again.

Nope, I just don't think that what other clubs get up to is of much interest, particiularly Villa, who although treated us well in the last match of last season, remain a "big" club in the eyes of it's supporters, but a bit like Newcastle, never really live up to that "big club" billing. We can do things the right way for us and the can rest stew in their own shenanigans and get found out either on the field or by the relevant authorities, or in Villa's case, both. But if reports are correct looks like they bought it and then placed it in a holding company linked to Aston Villa FC ( alledgedly ).

I don't know the specifics in this case - but normally it is another company owned by the club owner. This provides them with security as an asset against their loan. All too dodgy for my liking, got a feeling that in 4 or 5 years time we'll look back and say " jeez , we dodged a bullet there" by just doing our own thing, slowly but surely strengthening, improving quality and depth of squad, no major borrowing for players and wages, no panic ,, just self belief, determination and hard work backed up by an academy that is churning out players, not just for us and above, but players that will have good careers at a lower level, whose sales ,albeit unspectacular , contribute to the clubs overall ability to improve. Hare and tortoise springs to mind. We're Norwich City....we go our own way. Edited January 18, 2020 by wcorkcanary
duke63 739 Posted January 18, 2020 Even teams like Spurs are now looking to loan players to avoid FFP rules. Eventually the money bubble will burst and then the **** really will hit the fan for many clubs.
