Bournemouth vs Watford, Villa vs Man City

Nothing to do with sacking the Manager then.

Same at Everton and West Ham, albeit to a lesser extent with the latter

They're on their third manager of the season - sacking the manager before the last one (keep up) had a negative effect.

Neither where Watford until they played us and played better. If we can beat Bournemouth then who knows

Nobody knows but most people have a pretty good idea

That might have had some influence-and replacing Gracia with Flores was simply madness-but Deeney is the talisman of the side, much like Grant Holt was for us.

Getting Deeney back fit has made a big difference to them.

Certainly not sorry to see FFP cheats Bournemouth in the predicament they are....knew exactly what they were doing when promoted a few seasons back and then given a £7m slap on the wrist.

...spending £20m + on players when being allowed to play in the Premier League in a 12,000 seater stadium

The premier league has a habit of catching up with these small clubs , who overspend and reliant on one individual rich benefactor, i.e Wigan, Fulham.....if they go down, might be a while before theyre seen at this level again

Exactly - that's been the big thing for them.

They have been tighter at the back than us, apart from one hammering from Man City.

It's the quality of our defending that has killed us.

Not long ago their goal difference was worse than ours but now we are -6 behind them

Well the quality of our defending has certainly hurt us, but the failure to convert good chances when we've been on top has also hurt us as well.

Getting ready now for the grealish love affair on sky sports. Can't believe they compare him to maddison. Not even in the same class

There's nothing negative about it. The stats don't lie after 22 games. We have given it a go with what we had and have fallen short. There is no shame in that.

I listened to what Souness said about Bournemouth at halftime. They have conceded 298 goals in four and a half seasons. You eventually go down if you can't defend better than that. It's why Sheffield Utd are going to survive and we aren't, despite us being easier on the eye. Painful for those of us who like to see the flowing stuff but it's a significant fact in our impending relegation never the less.

But will they last in the prem longer than Bournemouth have?

Indeed..one trick pony, receive the ball 25 yds from goal , suddenly stop and wait for an opposing play to collide into the back of him and claim a free kick in a semi dangerous area.

The equivilent of a car insurance fraudster who slams his brakes on in front of you in the hope of a smash and a payout.

I don't know, but I never characterise fellow fans in a negative way. We all hope for the best in our different ways.

Which is why you're my favourite Eeyore🙃

On the subject of TV discussions it was interesting watching MOTD this morning.

After our game they never mentioned us at all. Nothing, not even a word about how bad we were.

..probably a good thing....however it should be pointed out that Southampton (a) aside  in the 8 or so games prior to yesterday , we've played well in most/all of the games and theyve been quick to acknowledge that..

Indeed they have as have the commentators & pundits on the streams.

Trouble is, in this game you don't get points for artistic impression

If we can’t beat a hapless Bournemouth at home next week then we deserve to be cut adrift.

Wonder if Villa will sack their manager this season. They’ll be in all sorts of ffp trouble if they go down, which I think they will.

Our chances of staying up are as near to nil as makes no difference.

...of course this Villa scoreline bares no relevance to us whatsover, or helps us in any way shape or form..

...no point looking at the league table or even watching the game
