Wasted money

Recommended Posts

For a club with our extremely limited finances we have wasted most of the suggested £10m summer transfer kitty.  We didn't appear to have invested the entire pot.  But what we did spend apart from the £750k for the excellent Sam Byram has seemingly been squandered.  Lets look at the recruits Drmic has been available for perhaps 4 games whilst being injured for the rest of the season we knew he was brittle which was reflected in his transfer fee.  Amadou who is available for £9m if we stay up is a second rate CB and a DM apparently but cannot dislodge the suspect knees and aged Tettey, a loan fee would have been payable out of the transfer pot.  Fahrmann with a reported £2m loan fee attached managed 20 minutes at Palace although feels he ought to start over Krul.  And now Patrick Roberts also subject to a loan fee has yet to be given an opportunity.

The money paid out for these four could have been much better utilised in a CB or striker not a top notch £10m player but a promising youngster from the lower reaches of the EFL.  Or a proper loan or loans from the PL.  It seems Webber's ability to identify talent has deserted him will need that talent to replace those we will inevitably lose.

Name me a club in the entire league that gets everything in the transfer market totally right. It's a difficult thing to perfect.

Easier said than done from your backside though.

The Teleshopping was designed to take us right through the night, with excruciating detail on the 2001-2 eggcup range.

Can we reschedule this for tomorrow morning?

You forgot the feature on what clubs all our exciting young talent is going to be sold to for a fraction of what any other club would get for them 😂

We didn't pay fee for Drimic.

Don’t let facts like that get in the way!

Apart from the excellent Byram, the summer signings have proved awful, and not one of them challenging or dislodging the first team.

We always needed to strengthen the defence after last season, we need a suitable backup to Pukki because goals have dried up, and we're still looking for that CDM, with tettey doing an incredible job and seemingly preferred over a £9m loan signing.

Also need a better option for No.10 than Stieperman when he comes on.
