lake district canary 4,531 Posted December 26, 2019 Yep, another thread. No apologies. The performance today deserved all three points, no question, but that final bit of the equation needs to be right - that putting the ball in the net. Defensiveley good today (although Grealish was given too much space for the goal) and attacking wise good, apart from the vital element. We will see how things change from here on in, but the players must know they are playing well - and if they keep that up, results will come. 3

Indy 3,283 Posted December 26, 2019 About time you excepted we are going to be playing Championship football next year Lakey, but just how good is Farke and his staff to get the youngsters, division 2 Germans and free transfers to the premiership and be so close to being competitive! Just makes you think what he might have achieved with some transfer funded better players!
GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 1,735 Posted December 26, 2019 We've just lost to a dreadful side everyone else in the league would've beaten today....who had one shot on goal Keeping the gap behind them to 3 pts was the absolute minimum today...and didnt even achieve that

The only consolation I’ve taken from the defeat is that at least we didn’t spend £140m to be that that s**te. Take Grealish out of that team and they have nothing. Flying Dutchman 744 Posted December 26, 2019 (edited) Nope, sorry LDC, always have time to support a positive outlook, but you're going too far now. Stop creating the same thread with just a glimmer of difference. You are coming across as very delusional. Positive spam is still spam. And still irritating. The nonsense coming from detractors is ridiculous. We are on the verge of being a superb outfit at this level - did you not see the way we outplayed Everton, Leicester, Wolves (first half - and if the goals had gone in that would have been that), and now Villa. So we lost a game - we need to get over it. 1 minute ago, Feedthewolf said: Happily supported you on the other thread Lakey, but absolutely no need for this one. Yeah, maybe too much, just so frustrated by today - but it's just made worse by the reaction of many on here. Cannot people just accept we were the better team today and that alone should be what takes us forwards into the next games? Frustration is something that affects all of us, but I was pleased to see us dominating a match again. So we lost, we need to get over it quickly and move on, the next game is only two days away. Pride in performance is what we need to take away from this and hope that Pukki and co find their scoring boots against Spurs.

These are the games where these so called pending positive results SHOULD be coming. We are losing to all the teams around us, that almost always means relegation, and rightly so. Every dog has its day, but in a relegation battle you have to battle week in week out. I always try to stay positive, but it is becoming harder with each defeat now. Pretty football is one thing, but I can't get excited about losing when we didn't deserve to, ever.

curious yellow 184 Posted December 26, 2019 I take it that, apart from LDC, you have all given up on this season. He does give you an alternative though. Instead of recycling the same old moans and agreeing with the trolls, you can gang up and take the pee out of someone who is trying to be positive.

Many times LDC was super positive and was criticized for it. Personally I have accepted that we are not good enough to survive this season, however we ARE improving. If you can’t see that it is you who is deluded. At the moment we are showing all the signs of players lacking confidence, if we had scored a couple of our several chances in the past two games we’d have had six points, but we didn’t and so we have none. That is what happens to teams that get relegated, we are close but not there. Can we continue to improve? Yes. IMO a lot will depend if we get thrashed by Spurs on Saturday. Will we avoid relegation if we do improve? IMO we will not, and we’d be best to plan on next year being a Championship promotion season and plan our squad additions accordingly.
