The Priest 0 Posted January 23, 2006 Keeper plays down exit talk Mon, Jan 23 2006 11:38Robert Green played down suggestions he is to leave Carrow Road after he threw his shirt into the crowd following defeat to Watford. The 26-year-old England international has been linked with a move away from the Canaries even before they were relegated from the Premiership at the end of last season. However, following a disappointing first half of the season in the Championship which has left them in mid-table and eight points adrift of the play-off places, the speculation has intensified that Green would be leaving, with the World Cup approaching in the summer. Portsmouth have been heavily linked with a swoop for the custodian and his decision to throw his shirt into the Barclay Stand had many wondering if it was a farewell act, something Green has played down. He told the Eastern Daily Press: "It''s just pure frustration. I stand closer to them than anyone in the game. "Everything that they feel I am feeling as well. "It''s difficult to describe - you want to speak to each of them individually and say ''we know how you are feeling but we are doing everything we can but it''s not good enough''. "It was just pure frustration."
